Guest guest
Jill, I went through this just before I quit having periods. For me it was caused by menopause. with kind regards, Jenni Proud Air Force Mom!May God guide and protect our troops!Christian Air Force Mom and Dads Grouphttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/CAFMandD/join Achy breasts? OK – Let me ask you this… :)My breasts have been quite achy and I don't know if this is 1) because of the new meds (now off Synthroid and on Levoxyl) or 2) associated with Hashimoto's or 3) menopause (ugh!). When I "used to" have a period I would get achy breasts but it was more of a bruised sensation. I just had my annual mammogram in October and everything was fine – whew! Does anyone else have this issue? Thanks so very much! :)Jill
Guest guest
Before I went into full blown menopause, and when still in premenopausal syndrome AND still on the faky estrogen, I had very achy sensitive breasts ALL the time. Even at that time, I had no progesterone. This is called estrogen dominance, no matter how small an amt of estrogen you have, if there is no progesterone or very little, you are still in estrogen dominance. I have found out within the last yr from many sources, including women on these sites, that it is a major cause of breast tenderness and sensitivity. I know longer have that sensitivity for the last couple of yrs, so I am assuming that estrogen levels have decreased somewhat (though I know that I need progesterone still), even on their own, plus, it has been 6 yrs since I tapered off, over a period of 3 months, and quit the estrogen. This is what I believe causes it because within these last couple of yrs I have not had that problem. Guest guest
Glad to be of some help Jill. I just don't know if it is the ONLY cause, but it is a very common one.
