Guest guest
i have been offline since friday. i had my chemo on friday, spoke with leanne friday night, woke up during the night in pain so bad that my entire body had contracted into the fetal position and i could NOT move. chuck called 911 because in that position he was not able to lift me to put me in the car to take me to the ER. this was caused from the chemo. one of the side effects of the chemo drug that i am taking is Neuropathy. that is when the chem causes motor and sensory nerve damage. it causes muscle weakness, cramps, spasms, tingling and numbness, and of course pain. i have never felt such a horrific pain EVER!!!! for those ladies who have experienced natural childbirth (which i have) something 580 times worse than that is as close as i can come to describing the amount of pain i felt. the dr said sometimes it can last for as litle as a few days and for as long as a year following the first chemo session. (oh goody!!! something else to look forward to!!) they are giving me a drug called LYRICA, it is a fairly new drug used for treating strictly NERVE pain, mostly used in diabetics or people who have shingles. it puts me in la-la land, which could be good, if i didn't have 2 kids to see about. so i only take half of what i have been prescribed and ALOT of aleve so that i am semi-functional and still able to uncurl my fingers as toes at the same time. i hope everyone here is doing well. i have missed you all. LCH 10-05 Houston ps....you all keep adding to this closing line and i am gonna have a book following my name. LOL
