Guest guest
My question is whether or not the processing techniques are the same as the Armour that Forest makes. Better yet, what does generic mean here----all kinds of extra fillers and side ingredients that I might be allergic to. See, I laugh when I hear this word generic, because generic should mean "copy", but it doesn't. I am so allergic to so many things that it would be detrimental to me to change to anything with some strange ingredients in it, even though it still has T1, T2, T3, T4, calcitonin in it. Don't know what I'd do then. Re: Generic Armour/thyroid. It is teeny print in there, isn't it... but you can dose the generic just as you did the Armour.. then wait to see how your body reacts. As with anything, there is a difference between brands and each of us reacts differently.. but the basic hormone ratio is the same in both.... .... it's always good to ask when it doubt.. it's easier to find out before and avoid an error than it is to deal with problems after an error is made.... The old ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure thing.... *shy smile* Topper () *who's thinking with all the 's we have here that folks should call me Topper! heheheheheh*
Guest guest
Yep, don't know why I thought letters starting with A. Anyway, yep, that's them. My bottle was different though, from my first and second bottle. The first one had the red and white bottle, with what?---some black print I think. That was from IAS. the last I looked, they didn't have ANY, but may have now. The classic bottle over here in the U.S.? The last two bottles I got have the pink on white, but say they are made by Forest, etc....The 120s that I got from MyRx, before these two 60 grain bottles, had purple on the bottle. Those are coscmetics in the packaging with different sources, etc... Re: Generic Armour/thyroid. I have attached a photo of brand name Armour Thyroid tablets. Guest guest
I'm one who prefers to err on the side of caution.. I've been hyper and it's no fun.... Start with one grain a day since you were on 100 Levoxyl.... Wait at least two to three weeks to see how your body is adjusting to the T3, it may not be very used to it depending on how your conversion was going on the T4 only (the levoxyl). If you seem to getting too flustered, heart palps or sweating.. I'd guess a reaction to the T3.... you can split your dose, once in the morning and once in the afternoon to cut that T3 dose down at each dosing. Keep in mind that T3 peaks in two hours and is 95% used up in four... so if you are reacting too strongly to the T3 splitting the doses will do the trick. For me, I'm a really poor converter.. I dose 5 times a day - 6, 10, 2, 6 and 10. Also, with dosing.. some folks do just fine swallowing their tabs.... but remember if you do you have to be careful about what and when you eat... you have to keep calcium and iron containing supplements no sooner than an hour before a dose or 4 after.. if I remember my numbers correctly. And you have to dose on an empty stomach to prevent the thyroid from binding with the food. To avoid all that I dose sublingually, under the tongue. Then I can dose right on time without worries of when it's time to eat. Some folks choose to take their doses between gum and cheek. Once you find which way you prefer to dose, stick with that method. To keep the amount of hormone that you are getting into your blood stream consistent.... You will get the most hormone out of sublingual (under tongue) dosing and the least by swallowing the tabs (in fact, depending on the environment of your stomach and gut, as much as 70% of the hormone can be lost and unusable. You guys are on your way! How wonderful! Just use good common sense and be observant... when in doubt ask... someone here should be able to find an answer... Topper ( E) A.. swing by the CAFE and fill us in on your new job! Guest guest
A, I have two grain tabs that I split into quarters... I'm a firm believer in spreading a lot of my supps throughout the day.. I split my multi's into 8 bits.. take one with each mini meal and what ever is left I take with my late night supps... I split up my seleniums and dose those three times a day.. same with DHEA, vitamin C.. pretty much anything that I can chop... the only things that I do ONLY once a day are any of the liquid caps like vitamin E and Omega 3... and, of course calcium and iron I only do once, I chose to do those late night. Weight, for me, didn't start coming off consistantly until I switched over to mini-meals... and doing my bedxercises, of course!
