What can I give them for sore throats, coughs, and fever? I really

don't want to give them something illegal, which would probably make

everything worse. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Tamiflu (Rx) is supposed to knock it out 90% of the time, but probably contains

illegals.

I put on Sambucol when everyone here had a nasty virus.. Dh

developed pneumonia and one son barely escaped it. The Sambucol seemed

to protect her and all she got was a very runny nose. :-)

You can use it after the fact to help cut down the number of days you

are sick.

There is a sugar free version but it does contain sorbitol. The whole

thing is illigal I am sure... But my goal was to avoid the heavy

hitting drugs that no doubt would have followed!!

You have to pick your battles.

I gave my kids Amantadine (prescription).

Both have weak immune systems and I figured that 5 days of a

medication with illegals in it was worth the risk of them ending up in

the hospital with pneumonia being pumped full of a ton of antibiotics.

Each parent has to make their own choice when it comes to illnesses.

Even Elaine has said that medical necessity overrides having to be

100% compliant.

I also gave them both Sambucol.
