Guest guest
I have low temps, and they should be between 97.8- 98.6. Well I can not get them up. So for the past week I have been on a natural thyroid glandular from nuritmeds which it is made from Bovine. I am ordering Armour because I hear it works better..?? Is there anyone that can help me? I NEED to get my temps up and they are almost always in the low 97's.
Guest guest
So far I'm hearing that those that are taking the bovine thyroid aren't doing as well as those taking the porcine thyroid... I was on the porcine thyroid for a full year and only switched to a generic prescription grade natural thyroid because of a price difference... How much of the bovine thyroid were you taking? How long were you on it? How were you taking it - swallowing or sublingual? Were you taking capsules or tablets? What were you taking before bovine thyroid? Guest guest
You should take one or the other.. not both... they are both adrenal glandulars... different fillers but the same content... prescription grade is stronger than the OTC (Nutri-Meds). Some have concern that Nutri-Meds aren't much good.. but I was on them for a full year (and I have no functioning thyroid gland) and made marked improvement on them.... I only switched to the prescription grade glandular due to the price break..... I am SEVERELY financially challenged and that price break was what allowed me to add other supps like Selenium, iron, DHEA and the others.. I never would have been able to start on them otherwise... I still take the adrenal glandular that they put out... I like the idea of taking the whole desiccated gland for the adrenals, just as we are taking the whole desiccated gland for the thyroid.... My body takes what it needs for adrenal support.. with all the little trace elements that are available..... Guest guest
Without knowing about all the chemistry involved, my own decision to choose porcine over bovine was based on the fact that pigs and humans are so similar that they are using pig organs for human transplants.. if we are that similar.. then I feel more comfortable with them as a source for thyroid glandular.... I also look at the intelligence level of pigs (actually higher than dogs) and that of cows.. and well... I'd rather oink than moo! hehehehehe Topper () On Sat, 24 Apr 2004 23:34:48 -0700 (PDT) Jan writes: According to my biochemist doc, the porcine thyroid is the closest one to human. Not only is the T4:T3 ratio in porcine closer to human, but the hormone actually fits in the receptor with contact at more points that the bovine. This also explains why Armour works so much better than synthetics for many folks. The porcine thyroid is bound to a convoluted protein, which fits almost perfectly in the receptor. By contrast, the synthetics are the bare bones of the hormone. Any claims that synthetic thyroid hormones are bio-identical to the natural are pure horse puckey.
