Guest guest
My PCP is recommending that I not consider IMRT radiation due to a rare genetic allergy to UV radiation that killed my twin sister and could complicate cell repair/healing/scarring, etc. So it looks like robotic surgery would be best option if qualified, since I'm relatively healthy but have had colon resectionings, coronary thrombosis, etc. Am 59.5 yrs old. My PSA is 23, then 19.5 three months later, and Glesen 6 with all 12 biopsy samples malignant, most 100%. Seminal vesicals and bone/CT scans were clear. Any thoughts on the robotic surgery. Laparosp. surgery not an option due to adhesions/scar tissue from colon resectionings due to perforated diverticulitis. PCP is seeking 2nd opinion at Sloan Kettering NYC. If denied by my HMO again, would have it done in Lehigh Valley PA or Central PA, or move to Downingtown to have it done in Phila. zone since that's a different HMO where I work in burg PA. Any thoughts and/or recommendations regarding surgeons, institutions, etc.? Thanks! Tim, Easton, PA TimEastonPA@...
