It was difficult to deal with and I was very careful until I became accustomed to it, but I can see that you just may not be able to take it if you continued to have that symptom. They are constantly coming up with different medications to help with pain, so maybe next week, month or year something will come along that you can take. Everyone is different. Guest guest Posted August 2, 2008 Report Share Posted August 2, 2008 Good evening all, I've been prescribed Lyrica 100MG's since Febuary. Has anyone else had feelings of nervousness an hour after taking the dose? I've been noticing my entire body has been shaking for an hour or three after taking the dose. After that time, the dose seems to do it's job. My cervical spine nerve pain has disappeared, my lumbar nerve pain is almost gone. I've got sciatica there along with another radiculopathy to the side of the right leg. Both have been noticible, but not to the point were I would tell my doctor. Overall, I like Lyrica, it's my last chance to quell the nerve pain. I've gone through Gabapentin eight hundred MG's four times daily from six hundred Mg's four times daily. What you have specifically described isn't listed as a possible side effect from Lyrica testing, but that doesn't mean you aren't having a reaction of some sort. (go to www.lyrica.com to read the full prescribing information including side effects.) One thing to worry about with anti-seizure meds is that they can sometimes (VERY VERY RARELY!) actually *cause* seizures. The risk is higher with higher dosages. You need to talk to your doctor to make sure that you aren't getting some early signals of such a reaction. Whatever you do, do NOT stop taking this medication suddenly. That can bring on a seizure, not to mention other ugly withdrawal symptoms. Stay on your usual schedule, but talk to your doctor on Monday morning and report this reaction. If your doctor thinks there is a reason to stop the medication, he/she will work with you to titrate down your dosage slowly so that you don't have any adverse effects from stopping. Any and all out-of-the-ordinary sensations or reactions to any medication should immediately be reported to your doctor, even if you've been on the medication for years. A person can suddenly become sensitive to a medication that they've taken for a long time with no problems. Let us know what you find out. Good evening Cheryl, Oh I do recall reading about not stopping it suddenly, and I don't plan to stop it.I think it's a small price to pay in order to quell the nerve pain,but I will inform my doctor on Monday morning. When reading I get rubbing my eyes because of the blurring. Sadly, all the weight never came off for me as I have lipodema and some of the extra pounds had converted into lipo fat. Didn't need that! I always read my inserts and re read them even on the medications I have been taking awhile as I forget the side effects. I just couldn't take this medicine. It helped my fibromylagia pain, though.
