Hello everyone. My name is Beth and I have been lurking since June.

My one year anniversary of low carb was on October 15th. I

was following the Schwarzbein plan and switched to Atkins this past

June. I have lost 23 pounds since I started low carb last year. I

would like to loose 12 more pounds. Right now I'm just maintaining

and trying to change my body shape through exercise.

got me interested in weight training. I am also doing StairMaster and

short walks. I'm 36 and live in Chicago with my dh, two cats

and no kids.

I have really enjoyed reading all of your posts. This group is an

inspiration.

Hi . Thanks for the welcome.

My body is resisting change. Over the past year I had been doing the

StairMaster 5-6 days a week. The closer to goal I got, the more

I realized the StairMaster wouldn't be enough. It's too soon to see

any results from the weight training. I am working with really

small weights doing three sets of each exercise. When it gets a

little easier I will add more weight. I feel the muscles getting

stronger. I figure I'm changing from the inside out. This morning I

completed my ninth week. I'm hoping for some limited results at

the three month mark.

I started doing full body workouts so I could fit more aerobics into

my week. The dh and I went hiking a couple of weeks ago. I had

drastically cut down my StairMaster time to fit in the weights. My

stamina on the hikes really suffered as a result. I hope adding it

back in will do the trick.

I'm not as concerned with the scale as I am with my bodyfat

percentage. I have declared war on my cellulite! Do you think more

lambaries will help?

Well Beth my hat is off to you (and anyone else that devotes

so much time to exercise) :-)

It really sounds like you know what you need and what your

body needs to reach the goals you have set and I'm sure that

you will see those changes that you want.

I was never one for lifting weights - but maybe as I get

down in weight I will attempt it.

Keep it up Beth - you are going great :-)

Take Care
