Hi ,

My neck sounds very similar to yours......since the DM, it grinds and

cracks, gets kind of tired, and doesn't like to turn to the sides very far.

For a while I was going to physical therapy and they sort of stretched it

from side to side......and also gave a wonderful massage.....wish I could

have one every day! Anyway, yes, I have definitely noticed neck

involvement.

We recently had our turn with the fires....I live in Richland,

Washington.......right near the Hanford Nuclear Area. You should have seen

the glowing red sky and all of the smoke!! It was awful. The fire here was

started by a two car collision and the resulting fire spread very quickly.

A lady died in the crash :-( Eventually, the US government sent out the

heavy fire fighters.....but not until they had wasted valuable time deciding

if they would or wouldn't drive the fire trucks over newly declared

protected land.

take care and hugs, too,

Connie

Hi everyone...

Ev, are you feeling any better? I got down to the grocery store this

afternoon and you popped into my mind... I hope your doing much

better....

and ... I know you can do it. It won't be easy but I know

you both have the strength to do it. ...keep telling yourself

that you can make it happen...then one day you'll feel the strength to

NOT go to the store.

Also, this might be a good time to treat yourself to any food you

want... I know you both are watching your girly figures but your lungs

are more important at the moment. Both of you hang in there it will get

better. We're all here for you....

Fern, got my last lab report back in the mail today.... My doctor put a

little note at the bottom that says.....

Vicki, Your blood proteins showed inflammation.

This is the results of the testing....

Hi-Resolution Protei

Total Protein ........8.1 [ 6.1 - 8.0 ]

Albumin ...............3.7 [ 3.4 - 5.0 ]

Electrophoresis .... Oligoclonal bands present in gamma region

Interpretation.........Polyclonal hypergammaglobulinemia consistent with

chronic inflammation. Immunofixation to follow.

Immunoglobulin, quant

IgG ........ 1310 ...[ 751 - 1560 ]

IgA ......... 349 .... [ 82 - 453 ]

IgM ........ 135 .... [ 46 - 304 ]

I still don't understand all of this...

I had to drive down into town this afternoon....got to have my bread ya

know. Roads are blocked off all over the place....some the fires are

too close to the road and some are closed because the smoke is so thick

you can't see a thing.

There trying so hard to keep the fires on the south side of the

highways...all the big winerie farms are on the north side...it is just

so terrible to see so much destruction.

Out my way we have a man made lake 3 miles from me. This is where the

helicopters pick up the water for out here. I've had to evacuate three

times since I've lived here (10 yrs) and it was the pits. That meant I

had to move 5 dogs and 10 horses at that time... now I have 3 dogs and 5

horses left. Still not a chore I can do very well now.

Ok, this is long enough.... sorry everyone.

Hope you all had a great Saturday...Oh, someone asked about there neck

being sore.... Mine gets like that also.... will last for about a month

then it goes away....

let me know what he's going to do. Oh the joys of the ups and downs...

without them I would lead a boring life...lol

Hi Vicky,

How nice, to be thought of--thank you so much! Ya, I still don,t feel good,

but Aug.

14th, I got an appt. at 1:00 p.m. with the Reumy, and I,m hoping he will shed

some new ideas. I also have the experienced the neck problem--not bad, but

enough to notice it. In the last " Outlook " , there is an article on IVIg,

getting rid of swolling problems. Some of the members of e-group, may not be

familier with the " Outlook "

It is put out by, The American Myositis Assoc. It costs 30.00 a year to

belong, but its well worth it, for all the info. You get 4 issues a year.

Love you much,

Ev.

,

So sad about your dairy farm even though it was so

long ago. Set by a fireman? That's eerie, like

something out of a movie.

Congratulations on having smoked you last cigarette.

When the urge comes over you, mentally list all of the

positive reasons to quit. With a myositis disease

they positives are endless. You can do it. One hour

at a time!!!! Hang in there. I am online on and off

all day. Post when you feel an urge and perhaps one

of us will catch you and give you a pep talk!

Hi Ev...I'm very sorry your still not feeling well...it's just the pits

isn't it. But, better days are ahead for you real soon. I agree with

you... the " Outlook " put out by the MAA is wonderful. Everyone should

become a member. I did read about the IVIg and my doctors and I talked

about it. We were waiting to see if the Enbrel would work on me. It

will be interesting to see what they come up with when I see him on the

10th.

I hope your appointment goes well for you. Let us know if you like this

doctor or not. If you don't get your questions answered or you can't

understand him....then move on to the next doctor.... It's not worth

staying with a doctor that doesn't make you feel comfortable.

Take care,

Vicki-PM
