Hi,

I'm getting ready to order my raw goat milk from White Egrets goat

farm out of Texas. What I'm not sure is if I should buy in bulk or

just what I need to make my yogurt. That's when I started wondering

if it's okay to freeze raw goat milk until ready to make yogurt. How

much do your order at one time? I searched the files and those on

the lyris, but I could not find the answers to this.

Thankyou to anyone who can shed some light on this

Becky -

I've ordered from them and they shipped it to me frozen. Also, it took me a

month to get my last order from them even though they told me it would be a

week. I just ordered my last batch of milk from Caprine Estates and they told

me they would give me the wholesale price of $2.38 (I think) per half gallon if

I ordered 6 half gallons. Once you drip the yogurt, there is not much of it

left, so we are going through a lot of it. I ordered on Friday afternoon, and

I received it today. I asked them to freeze it for me before shipping it.

This is what I have found that when you drip the goat yogurt you end up with

less than the cow milk yogurt. And my attempt at making coconut milk yogurt

was a complete flop, I ended up with green water with a layer of coconut fat

on top! I'm following Marjan's posts about the nut milk yogurt and may try

that, remembering to process the nuts for 10 minutes!

.....and the second batch (2nd generation) is even better! Would you

have told me that one can make a fine tasting, rich, creamy, lovely

Exactly.
