Hi Sher,

I too have a blockage in my cornary artery. That was in 2003, they found it doing a heart cath, didn't hurt, I just felt odd being awake and watching them. They didn't fix mine though, said they didn't put in stents unless the blockage was 80% or more. So what they do all depends on how much you are blocked. Dont panic though, they have improved soooooo much in the last few years when they do those procdures. I'll be praying for you....

Sher,

Did they say how extensive the blockage is? I don't think they do angioplasty and stent (or bypass) unless it is 70%. With a main artery that may be a different story.

Mine was the right coronary artery. It was 80% blocked. I had no symptoms...or so I thought. I felt much better after it was fixed.

Have you decided on a Cardiologist yet?

One more hurdle to get over. You are probably zapped from your day. Take care and get some rest. God is still in control!

Joyce...I have no idea the % of blockage yet. Yes, I have a Cardio...can't get in until the 17th. Lordy, Lordy and I do mean it literally. Like so many of us, one more plate in the air! When you had yours fixed, was it painful? I'm scared to look on the internet...I'll scare myself!

Sher,

When they found mine, I was at the hospital for a transplant evaluation. Part of that was heart catherization. They found the blockage then and immediatly started the process of getting the surgeon brought in and within about an hour they did the angioplasty and stent.

I was so scared of the cath and doubly scared about the angioplasty and stent. They would not give me much medication...didn't feel like any...because of my lungs. I watched both procedures and stayed alert. I couldn't escape so I just watched the screen. Pain was minimal except for the end of the day when they took out the tubing and held the incision together. They put pressure there for 20 minutes and that was unpleasant. There are plugs and patches available so that they don't have to do that. I had to lie flat for 8 or more hours. I was in the hospital overnight.

I could not believe how much better I felt the next day. I lost a lot of blood and was anemic and still felt tons better than when I went in. I take Plavix now and Vytorin for cholesterol. I don't care for my Cardiologist and I'm going to change.

Take care,

Joyce D.

Sher - I had my first heart cath in 2001 and it show 2 areas that

had narrowed already. I've been wondering if when they finally get

me set up for my transplant evaluation and do another heart cath

what they will find. But God is looking out for us so let's enjoy

today.

Thanks Joyce for the information. I will know today if my appt. on the 17th will be moved up...I will think of you when I have the procedure. You did it, so can I. Judy: you did it too, so can I! BTW, it's hard but make yourself sit and watch the move. It WILL get done. I hate feeling so helpless.....hugs to all this morning.

Thanks Vicky...I posted previously, I don't know the % of blockage yet. Haven't seen the Cardio Dr. yet...I'm just hangin' in there for now. Do regret another plate in the air but what the hell...I'm becoming a great juggler! Hope you are doing ok today. I love you

Kerry...surprisingly, I am quite calm. Go figure. I see the Cardio on the 6th and will simply walk through it. I've been reading Joyce Meyers book, "Battlefield of the Mind". What a great book. Must have helped! There are many on the board who deal with way more than I! If the rest walk their walk I'll walk mine!
