Guest guest
Hi Mike, Wow, you've been through a lot. I really appreciate your willingness to share your experiences. They can help in unexpected ways. For instance, a quote you included really hit me: " She told me I had not been given an answer and deserved one " . I've not accepted my PLS dx yet. The doctor that dx'd me now feels my case is " unresolved " , and wants me to do a few more tests. I guess I've never truely accepted the dx. My doctor started to doubt the dx when pain became part of the symptoms. I'm not sure if I've shared this here before, but now, I've found a new " feature " . Normally, when sitting straight in a chair, I cannot lift my right leg. Won't budge more than 1/2 an inch. I discovered that by turning my head right, and slightly down, I can lift it normally, multiple times. Turn my head left again, right leg does not work. This is repeatable. So far the doctors are either unimpressed (it's not important) or don't know what to make of it. My PCP said biologically it makes no sense at all. My common sense says there must be something in my neck causing this, but my neurosurgeon says it ain't in the films. Going for a 2nd opinion locally the end of the month. It gets harder and harder to continue to push at this " problem " . Physically and emotionally I'm about " out of gas " . But I feel I deserve an answer I can understand, that explains my symptoms. I don't know what to do. Arghh! If I still don't get an answer from the 2nd opinion, the Mayo Clinic might be next. Or is that a waste of time, energy and money. Is there a better place? I'd appreciate hearing any suggestions/opinions. Where is the best place to go? Does anyone else have this or a similar " feature " ? Am I just wasting my time and energy? Thanks Alan PS, I usually write short messages/responses because my arms ache as I type. Also, I don't always have the emotional/physical energy to " go online " , so my responses are sometimes a little late. I do appreciate your comments.
