Guest guest
yes, ruth, i had ranted in a post about that mt. sinai (yes, you spelled it just fine) story about mr. hurewitz... and it was a full lobster dinner he had, with drawn butter... and a baked potato with more butter... way, way, WAY too soon after surgery to eat solids.. let alone such rich foods. and yes, this was brought in from a restaurant outside the hospital. his orders were actually written up for a liquid diet. i can't fathom how the approval for solid food got by -- and the transplant recipient should have known to take it easy... he was a doctor, too! you'd RARELY if ever hear the *full* and *complete* details from the media, though... or from mrs. hurewitz, who gives lots of interviews to the media (well, maybe not so much anymore, since her lawsuits are pending). and in all likelihood the doctors aren't allowed to tell their side of the story (those pesky lawsuits again). it's all a sad blow for living donor transplantation, if you ask me. maureen
