How many bananas are too much?

My 2 1/2 year old son is celiac, not autistic. He has no problem

with phenols or any other food sensitivities other than gluten. He

has been on the SCD diet since Dec 1st (gluten-free for 2 years).

Before diet his favorite food was potatoes. Now it is bananas. He

wanted to eat them all day long. Thankfully I have been able to find

a continuing supply of nicely spotted ones. My grocery sells bags of

spotted bananas with about 15 of them for $.39. I am concerned that

he is eating too many though. He is eating about 2 bananas with each

meal (totalling 6-7 a day)! He is barely eating meat but is eating

cheese, almond bread with peanut butter and eggs. He is drinking

diluted apple cider or smoothies (strawberries, banana, yogurt &

apple cider). The only vegetable I have been able to get him to eat

is carrots. He will also eat muffins when I find time to make them.

I try to get him to eat other foods by doing things such as spreading

peanut butter between 2 banana slices or banana pancakes (1 banana &

1 egg). Is it OK that he eats so many bananas? He is underweight so

I am just glad to see him happily eating.
