OMG!!! I don't know whether to laugh or cringe, or both!!! Poor cat.

My nada often beat dogs we owned (with either a fly swatter, stick or

her bare hand) until the poor animal was exasperated, simply because

they whined and barked, as dogs do when locked up and never given

enough love. She said it was to " break their spirit " like you do with

horses, and she knew this because she lived on a farm until she was 15.

Mmmmmm....I think she applied that logic a little too widly with

animals and not to mention her kids and husbands!

I would have considered taking the cat with me when I left.

Dorian, I'm a volunteer with the ASPCA here in NYC. I can tell you

right now that if my nada had done that, she and her luggage would

have hit the pavement. How cruel to your cat. Why did you let her

do it past the first time?
