Guest guest
Thank you for approving my membership and happy New Year. I don't have the exact number of my previous PSA but my GP says it's doubled. They have asked about infection, but there don't seem to be symptoms. My biopsy is January 5th. I appreciate all the discussion and helpful information. Thanks again,Charlie New member last night Just before I went to bed in the UK last night I approved this membership Welcome! Guest guest
Hi, Charlie and Happy New Year:I have 2 more weeks of radiaition left and then I'm done. I was diagnosed last August with a low PSA, 3.4, but learned that 20% of men with a low PSA also have PC.Don't sweat the biopsy. I put it off for awhile and felt foolish. Make sure whomever does it does a lot of them, not just one or two a month or just a few a year. A doc who knows what he's doing makes the biopsy a breeze. If you do have PC, be concerned but let it consume your life. Carefully evaluate the treatment that right for you.If you'dz like to talk offline, shoot me your phone number off-group.Terry Thank you for approving my membership and happy New Year. Guest guest
When I was diagnosed in Nov. 05 my doctor said that 4.0 was the cutoff point for the PSA but that they were considering lowering it to 2.5 since, as you now see, there are cases of actual cancer at the lower number. That biopsy is no fun no matter who does it, and the aftereffects are somewhat unnerving too, but it's the only way to get a true diagnosis. Sure hope it's something else besides cancer. Good luck and keep us posted.
