Guest guest
I've recently made both the Peanut butter ice cream and the one with strawberries. Both were good, but the peanut butter one was REALLY GOOD. You could use any fruit your son likes, I think... Also look at the pumpkin ice cream... Just remember, you have to go slowly in giving foods. That is, don't make strawberry ice cream until child can handle fruits with seeds (or strain it first)... all fruits and veggies should be peeled, seeded and cooked at first. -- Sue, mom to Adam and SCD 2.5 months > I'm still researching this diet for my 3 1/2 year old ASD son, but > I've spent some time this morning looking at the recipes on > pecanbread.com and I'm really impressed! > > Has anyone tried the ice cream recipe? Guest guest
, I have made the ice cream many times and it tastes like ice cream. Don't worry about the strawberries, unless he is allergic. You can't taste them or really see them in the ice cream. I put a couple of drop of peppermint extract in one time and man was it good...yum! I have made the pumpkin ice cream as well. My kids thought it was delicious. I hate pumpkin and didn't eat any of it. I made " banana splits " with the pumpkin ice cream. My kids thought they were great. I split a banana along the sides of three small scoops of ice cream and lightly covered the top with honey and then sprinkled coconut flakes over the top. Anyway, I guess this was a long winded way to say... Yes the ice cream is good! Jody mom to -5.0 and -7.
