Guest guest
Why the *hell* do people feel such strong outrage towards animal abuse, and yet ignore, rationalize, and " forgive " child abuse? -Annie -------- Because children are often regarded as 'property'. Because nobody wants to take care of other people's children. Because children are supposed to be 'resillient' and 'tough'. Because even with all the strides to identify and stop all the various forms of abuse, there are still groups out there formed soley to revictimize the vicims. They crusade to slander the sexual abuse victims that step forward, accuse them of lying. Because nobody wants to admit the darkness of abuse exists, it's easier to ignore it and get on with your own life. Because people don't like to take a STAND OF JUDGEMENT. One of the reasons I watch myself here on this list is because I have some very righteous opinions based on my adversity and life experience. Sometimes people I know don't like the way I tell things the way it is. They would rather the truth be candy coated, something they can swallow rather than the bluntness of it, the hardness of its core. People don't like the truth, and like it even less when they have to do something about it. But Annie, I gotta tell ya, when I read your posts sometimes I see that same sense of internal justice that I think a lot of people on this list have. We tell the truth, particularly when others don't want to hear it bc if we didn't we compromise ourselves and our sanity. Keep yelling the truth KO's!! Whether anybody wants to hear it or not! It's the only way to spread the goodness out there.
