Guest guest
Hi all, I suggested this book in the link (can't remember exact subject title)recently regarding the next shoe dropping syndrome/anxiety/PTSD symptoms and the trouble many of us have regarding the feelings of Hope and then the almost immediate internal response of " oh SHit what have I done if I have hope next comes dissappointment and loss. " This is top 2 on my favorite book list for issues regarding BPD and us KO's. The book is titled Getting Through the Day, Strategies for Adults Hurt as Children. The author is Napier She is incredibly insightful having gone through abuse herself and recognizes that abuse is abuse physical or emotional she offers keen insights on our triggers and confusing responses to our world as adults and has many helpful suggestions for recognizing and changing these patterns of responses but it is all so simply put. I have been reading this book for 4 months now and working with my therapist with many of the ideas and subjects in here. He went and bought the book and equally likes it and finds it a very useful tool for working with adults hurt as children. Look it up I know it is available through and Noble and Borders. I bought mine at a local independently owned book store as have decided to support local economy at full retail it is $16.95 and worth every penny. It's a keeper. also as a side I have been a member here for about a year but mostly now just read and don't post.
