Guest guest
My son was on the scd diet for 2 weeks, he is 22 months old and he continually cried for food.........it was making me crazy so I thought that he needed more carbs so I gave in and gave him bread and potato and guess what...........he had really bad diarrhea for a couple of days.........big mistake!! BUT my real question is for all the parents whose children are eating constantly............is the child who is eating constantly getting a distended belly. My son is back on the scd diet and he still eats alot........lots of veggies, meat, some fruit and his belly swells up really big and it really CONCERNS me. Especially when he wants more food. Also........after we gave him the carbs (bad carbs) he was much more happier and his spontaneous babbling exploded!! I think this is because we killed so many bad bugs and we got his OATS test back and his clostridia count went way way down............ so we are back to scd and I know that he is going to get really cranky again. I just need to be patient! Please let me know if your child is a big eater and if his belly still looks normal. Thanks...........I love this list..........it is soooo helpful!!! My son ate a lot before SCD and eats even more now. He had and still has a distended belly. There was one day that it looked flatter. Anyways, I don't know why: if it is just toddler tummy, constipation or bad bugs. If anyone knows exactly why I am intersted in the answer too. > Also........after we gave him the carbs (bad carbs) he was much more happier > and his spontaneous babbling exploded!! I think this is because we killed > so many bad bugs and we got his OATS test back and his clostridia count went > way way down............ What did you do to get rid of Clostridia and how long did it take? Were you SCD most of that time? Gibson has Clostridia too. I'm confused. Do you credit the bad carbs with the happiness and babbling? My son was very happy and verbal tonight after I gave him pineapple juice so you made me think. He has also become less verbal through the months despite dietary and other interventions and that made me question the GFCF sugar-free diet we had him on. Hope mother of Gibson, age 2.5, appetite of 5 grown men, SCD 6 weeks
