Guest guest
Hi Jules, When you are hyper your muscles often fire as a reaction to the high hormone levels, if you are stressed those same areas that tend to be tensed up from that also seem to be the same areas that get the most muscle twitching and poorest healing... It was actually tendonitis in my shoulders that got me back in the second time... it was that orthopedist that diagnosed me as hyper. So I wouldn't be too concerned about that yet. With the bladder and frequent trips to the bathroom.. that too is a common occurrence when hyper, but I don't remember mine as being cloudy... Can anyone comment on this? I do know that when hyper there is a lot of calcium leaching.. Is it a possibility that the little particles are calcium? Or is it more likely a sign of an infection? How is your weight doing? Are you holding or dropping? Are you eating good healthy food? It's really important when hyper to eat well... your body is under a lot of stress and activity and uses up nutrients a lot faster than normal so you can quickly become malnourished and that makes recovery later much more difficult. Keep us posted on your upcoming tests.... and please feel free to share your lab results (and lab ranges)... Topper () On Thu, 01 Apr 2004 17:50:36 -0000 " jules_4827 " writes: > Hi! Guest guest
Thanks for responding!! I have all of the classic symptoms of hyper EXCEPT for the weight loss. Pretty wild...but I have not lost weight at all. And even though I am always hungry, I try to limit my intake. Not that I want to unhealthily lose weight, but it is just weird to me how that is the only symptom of hyper I don't have. I try to eat healthy, but could probably improve. Thanks for you advice. How do I get my lab results? Do I need to go get them or will they give them to you over the phone? > Hi Jules, > > When you are hyper your muscles often fire as a reaction to the high > hormone levels, if you are stressed those same areas that tend to be > tensed up from that also seem to be the same areas that get the most > muscle twitching and poorest healing... Guest guest
You can give them a call, they might... it's your right to have them.. but some of them want you to come in... some charge for copies... some give you grief and say no.. the if you live in the US it's your legal right to have them.... You need the lab results of your tests and the lab ranges.. it's usually a number followed by a range... TSH number (number - number) Your value, followed by what ever the numbers that lab is using.... Some folks don't lose weight... I held steady for years... but then I went into thyroid storm (when it goes nuts and starts pumping like crazy) and I started melting away.... 40 pounds in 30 days... then I ate non stop... and still lost over a pound a week. Knowing what your labs are, gives a bit better idea what you are dealing with and really come in handy when adjusting doses... but even if the values are in range, it's your symptoms that are the most important... there are folks that can have GREAT looking lab values, well within range... and still feel like crap and need care to slow from the hyper state or to medicate to get out of the hypo state. Guest guest
I am hypo and having terrible bladder problems, particularly every time my thyroxine is increased. I think it's just a symptom of your body's reaction to the hormone changes!! It's awful i know but mine is exactly the same - it got so bad 2 weeks ago i had to take painkillers to take away the constant urge to go. I've had urine tests done for infection but they are all coming back negative. I'm seeing my specialist doctor again this afternoon so i will ask him about it!! Keep smiling, F --- topper2@... wrote: --------------------------------- Hi Jules, When you are hyper your muscles often fire as a reaction to the high hormone levels, if you are stressed those same areas that tend to be tensed up from that also seem to be the same areas that get the most muscle twitching and poorest healing... Guest guest
, I can't say that this is true... it's the attitude that I've chosen to adopt when my bladder is 'urgent'. A dosage increase gives the body a kick in the butt.. speeding up processes in the system. The body gets a chance to do some house clearing of built up stuff and it's all waste and not healthy for the body. So I choose to believe that with all the extra house cleaning and all the garbage being cleaned up that the bladder just wants that old junk OUT... I try to increase my water intake to dilute the stuff and it seems that I can go longer between runs down the hall and when I do go I have a fuller bladder.... Other wise I used to refer to it as my 'three drop donation' I was going ALL the time and there was hardly anything there. After I settle down with the new dose I'm okay again. As I said... I don't know if my idea is correct but it's helped me to deal with it.... I would like to add that the sphincter muscle that holds the flow from the bladder is still a weak muscle, for me, just as all my other muscles are weaker from being undermedicated for so long.. but it's getting stronger... But, still, When I have the urge to go I don't have a whole lot of time to decide what I want to do about it. I don't have the option, as I did YEARS ago, of waiting half an hour until I get home. Ten or fifteen minutes I can handle.. but not much more. Guest guest
Hiya, I like that rationale also. And i can believe in it!! Whatever it's awful and, grin, like you i have the 'three drop donation' syndrome also. For me, at the moment it's just a CONSTANT urge. It's like my bladder is full all the time. It started for me just before taking the T4 though. So i think my bladder was already having problems dealing with stuff. Now i'm on T4 (and it'll probably be increased again this afternoon after seeing the endo) then it's got much worser. What keeps me going is the thought that this will all go away when i have my hypothyroidism totally under control. Here's hoping!! xx --- topper2@... wrote: --------------------------------- , I can't say that this is true... it's the attitude that I've chosen to adopt when my bladder is 'urgent'. Guest guest
The CONSTANT urge, rather than just the " little and often " syndrome sounds more like a UTI to me. Do you drink cranberry juice and lots of water? Cranberry juice acidifies the urine and cranberries have some sort of natural ingredient in them that helps to sterilize the urininary tract and help break up stones (barring they're not too large). I've had a kidney stone, and the pain in the side is the cardinal feature of them, but I would suppose that a very small stone could make it into the bladder and be hard to expel, from that point on. Never thought about that one. Tx Re: Hyperthyroid w/nodules...having problems > > Hiya, > > I like that rationale also. Guest guest
I've been tested for a UTI but the test was negative and normal. I'm not sure about kidney stones. As i said i'm seeing my specialist this afternoon so i'll see what he has to say about it!! --- wrote: --------------------------------- The CONSTANT urge, rather than just the " little and often " syndrome sounds more like a UTI to me. Guest guest
Please let us know. This had never occurred to me with my problem either.
