Guest guest
, This sounds very much like adrenal. Are you taking any adrenal support? What kind of steroid does your skin cream have in it and in what concentration? If you're taking adrenal support, and since the med in the cream goes systemic through the skin, perhaps you're getting more than a physiologic dose -- like what we, as thyroid/ adrenal fatigue people, would take to support the adrenals. If you're taking adrenal support, you could try not taking it until you stop the cream. If you're not, I would call your doc and report these symptoms to him/her, especially if they're really distressing for you. Perhaps a lower concentration or a different approach to healing your wounds would be okay with him/her. Janet > The last couple of days, I have been crying. I did not understand that as the Armour is still working well for me. But, what has changed is that on Monday, the dr has started me on skin creams(lotions) that contain steroids. I react strongly to them. I get weepy, puffy, even more easily upset and apt to be angry. Is this a reaction that any of you have? Is it adrenal? I got this reaction using flonase that was prescribed last year for me, too. > Webb Osterloh(ThyroFeisty or Feisty) > http://thyroid_phoenix.tripod.com > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/The_Thyroid_Support_Group/
Guest guest
In migraine headaches, Codeine blocks the pain, but when the effects wear off, the blood vessels are still abnormally constricted, so comes a rebound headache, at least for classic migraine. It does not do anything to help adjust the temporary size of the insides of the blood vessels. The narcotic pain killers in this category are notorious for deleterious effects on the blood vessels. Re: Thyroid, adrenal and steroids? HI , I wish I could tell you either way....but obviously this is how it affects you. I am sorry that you have to deal with that. I promise you I will ask my doc when I talk to him. My doc wanted to put me on allegra along with a nasal spray called nasonex. He gave me samples to try first. I tried them separately at first...the spray made me sicker and the allegra did absolutely nothing. He thinks my migraines are caused from allergies/sinus. I do to, but if nasonex has steroids in it...it sure didn't work well for me. Today he said he wants me to try another migraine med called Exert. I have to go and pick up the sample tomorrow as today my head ache was too bad. The only thing I"ve found that helps my headaches is Tylenol with codiene...and most docs are now so afraid to prescribe drugs like these...much to my pain and discomfort!! Anyway..I'll look into that combination that you are asking about....I'll letcha know when I come up with something. hugs..PattiSue
