Guest guest
Bought myself a stethoscope yesterday so I can monitor my lower lung lobe myself. Do any of you own your own stehoscope? I have been seeing an herabilist who is of the opinion I am getting better. I don't know if that is just his way of getting me to continue to buy the herbal supplements from him or if it is factual. I was seen my doctor's P.A. this morning because I have been having pains on my side and my back at the waistline. She had a urinalisis done to check me for a kidney infection & then a blood test to check my liver and kidney functions. She did listen to my lungs and thought they sounded better than they did last Aug. Not sure how she can remember how they sounded that long ago, but lately I have been able to take deep breathes which I could not do before I went on the herbal supplements. The doctors had me on 15 prescriptions and I was still coughing so she said to first stop the Allegra (generic) and the Flonase (generic) as they are both drying and can cause coughing. She also told me to cut my HCTZ in 1/2 as the 50 mg could be causing the pain in my side and defintely could be causing the shaky hands. She also said in a few days to try stop using the Advair as it could be causing more dryiness and my voice problems and could be conflicting with my Spiriva inhaler. I have been feeling simply like a guiinee pig after all my doctor visits because they all seem to be just guessing as to what meds I need and not really thinking through that taking so many meds can be more harmful than helpful. At my next visit (April 2) with my primary care doctor I intend to request a chest X-Ray for a comparison with one done last fall. Guest guest
Judy, I had saved this older post and another where you talked about pain in your side/waist. I also had this and it was really painful. I complained to my primary doctor about it in July when I had a physical. They did tests to check blood/urine/kidney. It did seem to be the kidney area. It hurt at night/early morning and more so on my right side and was relieved a little to roll over to the left and was fine once I got up and going in the day. All tests came back fine. I have since tried to drink more water and get up and pee every time I wake up. I don't know if that resolved it or it was something else, but a couple weeks went by and it's gone now. Now I have the sore throat... it sure seems like most my problems occur/flare up overnight. In post a month ago I said I quit the Allegra because like you I didn't see the benefit and thought it may be drying. Now I've restarted it to see if it eases this overnight throat issue. I will be paying attention to see if it increases the cough. Talk about stuck between a rock and a hard place. Oh, well. Just to say it is interesting to read others having same issues and trying to resolve along w/ you. Now that I've got my son napping and I've cleared out a few more posts I really gotta get showered and presentable to pick up my girl.
