Guest guest
That's true, I believe. I have always heard it as twelve pounds. It is because your metabolism slows down when you stop smoking. But far better to not smoke and carry ten pounds around then to smoke like a chimney and look like a beanstalk. YOU LOOK GREAT NORMA!!!!!! I just wish you could feel good too because you sure do deserve it. a ----- Original Message ----- I had always > heard that when you give up smoking, even if you're eating > the same, you will gain 10 pounds. Guest guest
Hang in there Norma! Maybe if you had some sugarfree candies or something to keep in your mouth. When I quit smoking, I was always looking for something to do with my hands or mouth. That's what helped cause me to gain weight. Good Luck! Guest guest
Thanks guys I guess I must have slowed down because I have become even worse at housekeeping. Takes me forever a room cleaned and I am not even stopping for smoke breaks. Chomping on some cabbage now. I will stop my whining now and get on with it. Thanks Norma

Guest guest
I weighed 138 pounds when I quit smoking. It was an alltime high for me at that point in my life. I weighed 210 lbs. last year when I started this wol. Believe me, Norma, you did it the right way. Hang in there. corky Re: Norma > Hang in there Norma! Guest guest
i agree with corky that you have to exercise and that it is a slow process.. but i really think its the only way you can keep the fat off your body our bodies play all kinds of nasty tricks on us.. if the treadmill was too hard on your hips you might want to try an incline bike or some weight lifting... i know running on a treadmill is too much for my old joints if i do alot of it catherine > Norma, > People who have all their weight jump back on them, aren't trying.
