I was wondering at what point it's okay to put fish in the diet. I see that

it's legal as long as nothing is added during processing, but I don't see it

mentioned specifically in the diet stages for our kids, nor have I seen posts

where folks say they are feeding it to their kids. My son loves salmon so that

would be a little variety, also I can successfully hide grated zucchini in

canned tuna. Any thoughts?

Marty and

If you look at the table, meats are allowed in all stages of the diet

and just the method of cooking is changed. We have eaten canned salmon

and tuna and of course all kinds of frozen and fresh fish from the

beginning. As you point out salmon and tuna are great for blending with

other veggies.

Hope this helps.

I would be very cautious about giving my son any kind of fish

because of mercury poisoning. We have recently won a long battle

with mercury, and I would be afraid that more fish would introduce

more mercury into his system.

If you know of any tuna, cod, or salmon that is graranteed to be

free of mercury, please let me know. I know he would love to eat

fish again.
