Guest guest
I want to send out a thank you to some great dispatchers in County, TX. On my way home from AUS, having made the great flight from BWI, and on my way home. Deer jumps out on two lane road. The nice thing about TX is 70 mph speed limit makes driving long trips a breeze. But not when a deer stands in front of you. Get slowed but still hit the deer. Pull off, mindful not to be in the verge (grass) cause it is so dry here. Check car - durn - fake plastic of headlight is broke out but lights still work. Can't find the deer. Actually the 11 yo riding shotgun is not as shook as me. Obviously just clipped the hoof - no airbag deployed, no car damage. What to do now?? Tried cell phone and only people I can reach is those lovely ladies working 911 in . Of course I can not remember my cell number (I only carry it for emergencies ya know) and have just a vague idea where I am. They are kind enough to get the info I needed and call me back. Believe me as darkness is falling it sure was nice to have a warm voice answer at the other end. And they treated me very nicely cause it was not a priority call. Knew if I had actually needed any services they sure would have taken care of it. So when one of our own does a good job, I like to give them a little recognition. Thank you !!! Jean PS - I still cannot remember that durn cell number. And no jerky or bologna and $$ to fix the headlight.
