I haven't read it, but my logic says, why wouldn't it? Look at the

vulnerable position it is in. Then add nodules to that, that may be more

exposed to manipulation from the outside maybe a little more than a normal

shrunken thyroid, and that is really exposed! If I press mine in one

particular spot, it is sore very low and to my right side. Other places I

press around it are not sore, so I'm really wondering about that. Would

love to have pictures made of the thing.

I have... It's the actual manual manipulation that presses more hormone

out, causing a surge...

There is a bit of an adrenaline rush, from the nervousness that mixes in,

making it more 'panicky' feeling...

Hi Nick...

I am wondering if maybe your symptoms might be " psychological " in

nature?..I had the same thing done to me and I got nervous after

leaving the doc's office and have had that panicky/gastric upset

feeling ever since..and this has been going on now for maybe a month!

I did not realize that doc's still do thyroid surgery?...sounds so

invasive..will they put you under general anesthesia??..I have heard

of folks being given some kind of iodine to totally destroy their

thyroids which means they would have to take replacement hormones for

the rest of their lvies..sigh..

I wasn't really nervous after. I was just driving back to work

thinking about work, then it started. When I say epigastric aches,

what I mean is an ache in my ribs, not really a stomach pain. I

suppose anything can happen, but this ache was what I had 3 and 4

months ago when I was in the middle of thyroiditis.

Yes, they will do the surgery under general anesthesia. Date is set

for 5 May 04. The main reason for surgery is simply because the

nodule in my right lobe is very large. I'll keep you all posted. Nick
