Guest guest
My son slept 12-14 hours a day and threw up the same frothy you are talking about. He was tired for about two weeks. His bowels are normal now and he is back to normal {for him} He is eating more vegy's then he ever has in his life. I never thought I'd see him eat zuccini for breakfast but he does. Stick it out! PS I feed him only organic foods. Pam
Guest guest
Are you doing the intro diet first? Good for you that you are all doing it. I have found this helpful for us, asd well. , Virginia's Mom, (non ASD), age 8, SCD five weeks, NO Imodium for 3 weeks, Nortryptaline (migraine prevention), Imitrex, also Mom to 11, and Rose
Guest guest
It sounds like you are going through die-off. We had the same reaction of vomiting from die-off on day 3 of the diet when he was only eating turkey, carrots and grape juice. He got better after day 5. He has continued to improve as we have stayed with this diet, and he has always had honey and fruit. He is talking alot more and having trophies. It's just amazing. Our friends also saw vomiting and extreme lethargy on day 3 of the diet with their 4 year old son. I wonder if it is something about day 3 that some of the yeast just can't survive anymore without those starches and they all die. , (4) asd, scd 6 weeks
Guest guest
" our 3 1/2 yr. old is on day 3 of the diet " What are you feeding him? The foods you listed for your other child are not foods generally given at the beginning of the diet. Just curious if that's what you are feeding your 3 1/2 year old as well. When asking for input, it always helps us to know exactly what the child is eating and drinking. Jody mom to -5.0 and -7.
Guest guest
hi jody! i think you are the same jody that was at the st. pius meeting in november? paddy is our only child and i was referring to him alone in the initial email. we had intended our start date for going scd as new years day. in the meantime, while running out of illegals, paddy's menu has seriously diminished and he's craving his gf/cf foods as predicted. but during this time, his food intake dropped dramatically and we started to see signs of die-off, so thought we'd just get started rather than make him go through the die-off twice. he's not eating anything. drinking water only (15-30 oz. day). last night he had maybe 20 teaspoons of chicken broth/soup (scd recipe). he's not even touching scrambled eggs which he usually will eat. he's not eaten really anything other than that for a good 2 days now. 3 days ago he did have 2 scd peanut butter cookies. that's it for a 3 day time span. he is constantly being offered (in various forms) everything listed on intro. last vomiting was yesterday from 4-7 a.m. no bm since one day prior to that, but not surprised since no food intake. what do you make of this, and can i go ahead and try offering honey? move on to stage 1? i know i'm not saying anything new to the group, but our frustration levels are HIGH and he is SO hungry (and stubborn). thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for your replies, suggestions, and support. keep it coming! > > " our 3 1/2 yr. old is on day 3 of the diet " > > What are you feeding him? > > The foods you listed for your other child are not foods generally > given at the beginning of the diet. > Just curious if that's what you are feeding your 3 1/2 year old as well. > > > When asking for input, it always helps us to know exactly what the > child is eating and drinking. > > > Jody > mom to -5.0 and -7.
Guest guest
" i think you are the same jody that was at the st. pius meeting in november? " Yep, that'd be me! Sorry about the confusion about there being 2 kids... not sure how that happened. After two days of not eating, I think it's time to move on. His system had a rest from the illegal foods... Add foods slowly. Try a banana, applesause or pearsauce. See if he will eat them. Did you try the chicken pancakes? They are easy and pretty kid friendly. Make sure you are giving him watered down grape juice so he get some carbs even if he won't eat anything. He needs the carbs for energy. What DOES he like to eat? Did you clean the illegals out of your house or can he still see his favorites hanging around, but you just won't give them to him? Guest guest
" can i safely continue w/ honey? and any suggestions on how much/often? and is cocoa in any form allowed? " Now, I am even more confused. How are you giving him honey if he isn't eating anything? Just putting honey on a spoon? You really need to get some food into him. Cocoa is not allowed in any form.
