Guest guest
I have a question that hasn't been answered regarding yeast. Is this diet geared towards getting rid of yeast or just bad bacteria and gut healing? I read the BTVC book and wasn't truly clear if it is. I've looked at the BED diet and some things are very similar but some are different and that one is strictly geared towards yeast elimination. My son's main issues are with yeast and the need for gut healing, as a result. Just trying to get some direction here to make sure we're on the right path. Thanks! Re: Trying to decide... probiotics or no probiotics , Elaine has said that Dr. Haas told her to use yogurt AND acidophilus supplements.... and so that is what she recommends..... but just acidophilus alone, no other strains in the supplements. There are some legal ones listed at the pecanbread.com site. I am wondering if I should or need to add Probiotics. (When we were gfcf she was on Culturelle and that was the ONLY time she has stiff stools prior to SCD. As Culturelle is illegal on SCD, she has not any since SCD. I am just wondering if probiotics would speed things along or help her have trophies consistently. Guest guest
My son still had big yeast issues on gf/cf. The first time my son ever stopped all his stimming was after starting this diet (SCD). And I attribute the probable cause of that to mitigating yeast. I limited fruit, though, and didn't feed him honey. Make sure your child gets sufficient permissable carbs and fats he needs along with the added protein. And keep him well hydrated - very important. If you make an intestinal environment that gets rid of one, you get rid of the other as well. , (4) asd, scd 6 weeks
