Guest guest
Hi , My daughter was never sick either. Just as you said, a little sniffle here and there. Oh yeah, and she threw up once. I remember reading that autistic kids' immune systems may be " fully charged " all the time, trying to deal with what's going on in their bodies, and I think that may be the case with my . Because although I'm still unclear about yeast, when our holistic practitioner did a stool sample analysis for , she was found to have a HUGE overgrowth of a nasty bacteria (citrobacter freundii). So if her body was fighting that all the time ... Anyway, I don't KNOW if it's true, just remember reading it. Sue (from Pickering) Mom to , 4, formerly? Guest guest
Ian's had significant yeast issues while being good height, good weight, seldom a cold. You can do a stool analysis with parasitology X3 from Doctor's Data, and an Organic Acids Test from Great Plains. ?? about yeast and illness Good morning, My pediatrician did a yeast culture/sensitivity for my son this past fall and it came back normal. She was reluctant to even do the test because she said that kids with yeast issues were always sickly, and my son is not. Is there any truth to this? If my son had a yeast overgrowth, would it cause noticeable health problems? I'm certain that my son has a problem with yeast because of his behaviors, chronic diarrhea, and food choices, but he's a very healthy kid. He's only had antibiotics a couple times and that was at least 2 years ago, he's never ill other than the occasional sniffle, and he is of normal weight and height (though I tend to think he's a little on the skinny side). Thanks for any advice on this subject. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi I know this is OT but just wanted to add that Dr. McCandless and other reading I've done told me that the tests may show false negatives so it is not a definite answer to what is going on. Just thought I'd throw that in to further confuse us! Have a blessed New year! > Ian's had significant yeast issues while being good height, good weight, seldom a cold. > > You can do a stool analysis with parasitology X3 from Doctor's Data, and an Organic Acids Test from Great Plains. > ?? about yeast and illness > > > Good morning, > > My pediatrician did a yeast culture/sensitivity for my son this past > fall and it came back normal. Guest guest
Both my kids have yeast overgrowths (and bacteria) as evidenced by urinary OATs and by the fact that they respond to treatments like antifungals and SCD. However, neither is particularly a sickly child. My 8yo n/t daughter had lots of antibiotics as a toddler, but my ASD son had almost none. He has yeast problems too. AND yeast has never shown in the stool tests of either child... I think it is up higher in the digestive tract, or maybe somewhere else in the body... I like the OATs (metametrix or Great Plains), or just try some antifungals (GSE, Uva Ursi, Caprylic Acid, etc) and see what happens. -- Sue, mom to Adam and SCD 2.5 months -- In pecanbread , " jlrowan1973 " <jlrowan1973@y...> wrote: > Good morning, > > My pediatrician did a yeast culture/sensitivity for my son this past > fall and it came back normal.
