Guest guest
Hi.. we are using this also and just started. On one of the lists I was told it is legal. There is no other form that is pure I am told. My 23 month old takes it in homemade applelsauce and it has not been a problem at all. Good luck! > Does anyone know if Lauricidin is legal? Guest guest
Lauricidin is legal. Good stuff. Only comes that way. If your son can swallow capsules in a bite of pear sauce, you can fill empty veggie caps. If not, can you hide them in ooey-gooey very well-mashed banana? Don't chew them, I hear they taste awful. Recommended to take with food, but not if he's taking lipase enzymes. Take one-two hours, at least, away from lipase enzymes. I don't know the dosage to work up to for your son. You can write to Dr. Kabara at jonKab@... and ask. He's a sweetie. Lauricidin/SCD Does anyone know if Lauricidin is legal? The one I ordered has no other ingredients...just pure Lauricidin. I just received a bottle of Lauricidin which I would like to give to my 19 month old who is doing battle with yeast and bacteria. It (the Lauricidin) comes in the form of little pellets that you are supposed to ingest without chewing. I doubt that I can accomplish this with my son who will either chew them or, more likely, spit them out. Does anyone know if Lauricidin comes in another form like powder or liquid that has the same potency? Also, does anyone know about how much and how often a child or 19 months (26 lbs) should get? Thanks. a ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
a, For an alternative to the pellets, the Monolaurin capsules from Ecological Formulas can be opened up and put in applesauce. They don't taste bad. They do have fillers such as dicalcium phosphate, cellulose powder, and silicon dioxide which are all legal. Dr. Kabara makes the Lauricidin which is in powder form, and sells it to Ecological Formulas so they can put it in capsules and distribute it. My son will swallow the Lauricidin pellets if I put them on a big spoon with water. They will float in the water and are easy to swallow. But he has always done better with the capsules for some unknown reason. My son has always had a runny nose when taking Lauricidin, no matter how low the dosage. But EF monolaurin actually helps his ear infections a lot. Dr. Kabara will tell you how many capsules equal to a serving of the regular Lauricidin, if you wish. Guest guest
Does EF monolaurin also give him a runny nose? We haven't started, and I don't want my son to have a runny nose. I ordered the Lauricidin but maybe should have gotten the other. Where do you order it? Guest guest
I don't know that a runny nose is a bad thing if gunk is draining out. It wouldn't be good if he snorted it back into his ears. Anyone else know about this? Teri Re: Re: Lauricidin/SCD Does EF monolaurin also give him a runny nose? We haven't started, and I don't want my son to have a runny nose. Guest guest
Kristy, It's been my observation that the regular Lauricidin does not necessarily give other children runny noses. My son is the exception to most rules. However, he can tolerate the EF monolaurin; and in fact, it actually helps his ear infections. It helped get rid of some huge, swollen lymph nodes under his ears that nothing else would get rid of. Pre-SCD, I would give him six capsules a day, divided in applesauce with nutmeg and cinnamon. He was over 120 lbs. His nose did not run with the EF monolaurin, but you need to start gradually and work up as with most supplements. It helped get rid of my ear infection, too. However, I failed to mention that the EF monolaurin has 2 other ingredients. Sorry about that. I could not see the small print. They are calcium phosphate and inosine. You may want to check the legality of those 2 ingredients. The fillers are legal and are dicalcium phosphate, cellulose powder, and silicon dioxide. I got mine from http://www.thevitaminshoppe.com Rose > Does EF monolaurin also give him a runny nose? We haven't started, and > I don't want my son to have a runny nose.
