Hi ,

Just get some good omega 3's like from Nordic Naturals, its a tried and

true product. Also purity brand is good, Carlsons. Cod liver oil is for

winter months when you are not getting any sun and krill oil is fairly

new, I am looking into that too but have not decided yet. The DHA in

flax has to be converted and the body will not always be able to do that

efficiently and so in order to get enough you would have to take alot

more then you might think you would. Most people get enough of the omega

6 and 9, that is why its recommend to just take the 3's.

It's correct that flax oil must be converted by the body first. This may

never take place in a person with health challenges. Cod liver oil is preferred

in the winter months due to it's vitamin d content and minimal sunshine in

those months. Many people have problems digesting both cod liver oil and fish

oil. You'll know shortly after taking these if you start burping. The main

advantage to the krill oil is it has high levels of antioxidants. This is very

important because the main thing you want to avoid with any beneficial oil

(aside from mercury plus other contaminants) is oxidation. Omega 3's are

especially prone to oxidation. Much of this takes place upon digesting them and

sometimes before due to light, heat and oxygen exposure. That's why many people

take vitamin e with the oils. Krill oil has built in protection naturally

which is why I would recommend that and the fact that it's the first not to

make

me burp. In addition to any fish or flax you may want to add some borage and

or evening primrose oil to the regime.

Hi , I read on Dr. Mercola's site that he recommends the krill oil and says

it's better than plain fish oil.

Hi Desinie,

Yes I have read what he says, that is why I was looking into it. I have

several months of high quality omega 3's and so I just did not push the

issue yet. I had a friend who just went to the Antaratic and I told her

to bring me some Krill oil but she forgot!

Hi Glenn,

Well I was leaning in the direction of Krill now you have me sold for

sure! My daughter does burp up her fish oil and so maybe this will be

the way to finally get her to take some fatty acids! I don't have a

problem with the stuff but am always looking to find better things.

Thanks , that is a good reminder to me, she does eat walnuts

cause I have them soaked in fridge most the time. I should buy some of

the others ones mentioned and keep them around. Do you soak all of your

seeds to?

seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds and many other seeds and nuts contain omega

3's, some with an even ratio of 3's and 6's. Eat these along with cod

liver/fish/krill oil and increase the volume of " good " fats. Here's an

interesting blend of seeds that I came across. h

I guess we just have to figure out how much more costly that would be to

take more. SInce fish oil can be distilled to remove the toxins that

would be less of a worry but I like the extra antioxidants. I will be

trying it and seeing if I notice anything different.

That is good to know about Kiwi, they are reasonably priced and don't

spoil quick, of course being irradiated might have something to do with

that. I used to grind flax, need to get into that again also.
