If you are looking for the Komen address...go to their website

www.komen.org and you will find it there. If you can't find it, let

me know; I have it in my files.

It's OK, Doris. Every woman who asked for a doll got their donation page

URL, in addition to the address of the little cancer store I like so much

(they always say they never let a woman leave empty-handed and they mean

it. Unless I guess if the woman has lots of money but just doesn't care for

anything in the shop!)

If anyone still wants a doll, let me know. I'll use my " doll sig. " You have

to include the " = " mark in the URL, which for some reason never shows up as

URL-colored in email.

Oh. Did you want me to send it to you again? I'm confused (as always).

Please email me off-list if you want me to tell you the addresses of the

places I suggested donations to. Or I'll make the donation for you if you

prefer. Doesn't matter.

Ooops. Newbies don't know what I'm talking about. I have some dolls that I

made before I was diagnosed that I'm giving away to women with breast

cancer, or who are bc survivors. There's an optional donation you can make

if you like. If anyone's interested, let me know. You have to put the equal

mark into the URL; don't know why it usually shows up as plain text in email.

Or did I send this already? Oy. Chemo brain is really a drag. :)

Re: Jill's doll

Cheryl, I will be fine; I was a bit depressed yesterday and today but

I am getting busy and the depression has no room in my life. As you

may have heard me say before, I don't believe in being depressed. I

just get mad or happy and work past it. I know that people do get

depressed...and I understand...I just can't allow myself to stay that

way. doris

Hi Doris. Could you possibly bottle up just a little bit of your strength

and send it to me? I honestly don't know how you do it, but boy do I

respect you for it.

Jeana,

Please don't beat yourself up for having a bad day. It doesn't help. I wish

I were the type of person who could just pull myself up by my bootstraps,

too. But I'm not. It doesn't make me a bad person. It just makes me a

different person. You have a lot to worry about, and if the way your body

and brain and psyche deals with it is by taking some time off to be lie

around the house and be depressed, that's just how your particular human

unit operates.

If you find yourself feeling this way steadily, for weeks on end, that's

not normal for anyone. There's help available for that, should you need it.

But more likely it's just a passing thing, and you'll feel like yourself

again on your own, soon. If you're not ready to go back to work yet, you

can't force yourself to be ready by pretending to be, or by wanting to be,

or by blaming yourself because you're not. Try to be kind to yourself.

You've been through so much. Maybe it's just all hitting you right now.

You're entitled to a few days of sitting around doing nothing except sleep.

Treat yourself as you would treat a close relative whom you love very much.

You'd want to help them get better, of course, but in a kind, gentle,

accepting way. Grab onto the good seconds, even if they're only fifteen

seconds long, and try to remember them. Maybe even write them down. It's

easy to feel like *everything* is horrible when you're depressed. Even if

it's just a smile at an email or phone call from a friend. Remember it.

Eventually your life will be mostly good times again, with only the

occasional bad moment.

Feel better,

Jill

Thanks Jill. I'm doing much better today. I am in my rearrange the front room

mode. My husband could never come home drunk, he would probably fall over a

chair or something. lol
