Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the input. I have faxed over to my doctor to get a copy of my records. I never knew the numbers before or what they meant. I'd get tested and the doctor's office would call me and say the results were normal. But I was feeling ok then as far as thyroid so I never asked. I never got a definite cause of the hyper state. I had been given a benzodiazepine for many years beginning when my second child was born (postpartum depression, emotional pain from a bad marriage etc.) and when I became pregnant nine years later I was made to stop the drug cold turkey. But I was on a huge dose by that time and it had many negative affects on me- both being on the drug and stopping it. So I don't know if I had high thyroid for a while but didn't know it because the other medication masked it, or if my thyroid was impacted by coming off the other med. When they did the surgery they said they didn't see anything wrong with it, though I presented so many symptoms that they took it out. What a mess! I always thought that someone with low thyroid would sleep very deeply but still not feel rested. Well I generally sleep rather lightly and non-restfully, so I hadn't questioned the fatigue, I thought it was just from poor sleep. Sorry to be so long. I'm new at this and still with a lot of questions. best wishes, Kim
