Gretchen,

I know you're still feeling terrible . . . but your message sounds like you're thinking more clearly.

Dr.Kolb is the best one to tell you what you're dealing with. I'm relieved you are going to see her!

She understands what it takes to get the toxins out of your body! I have no doubt you will soon be feeling better.

Please try to relax and think positively so your body is under less stress.... I know it's hard, but allowing stress to overcome you is only goiong to make things worse.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Gretchy,

As we've said many times before, I do not think you are giving this enough time!

I am surprised that another surgery might be scheduled, but I trust that Dr. Kolb knows what is needed. Maybe she is going to clean you out if the original explanting doctor didn't do it right.

In my opinion, based on the experience of many women who have written to me, (including one that got her implants out only 4 months after getting them due to bad brain fog and still suffered over a year later from brain fog), I just don't think you are being patient enough. I know you want to be better, as we all did, but the immune system has a mind of its own and this just might take longer than you want it to. You can't force your body into healing no matter what you do surgically.

It's just going to take some efforts to help your body through the process of detoxification or whatever it needs to get back into balance, and sometimes that is just TIME.

countdown to kolb... need more hope...

Alot of times during explant surgery, toxins are stirred up causing aflare of symptoms. Right? With my silicone gel explanted at 5 weeks.. do you all think that Igot worse due to toxins or worse due to no capsules and drains? I just wanted to start getting better.. see 1 glimpse of hope? Did any of you get LOTS worse after explant before getting better?I will be flying Sunday to see Kolb on Monday and then surgery onWednesday if needed - she most likely will want to go in and see ifthere is anything to drain or capsules to remove. My symptoms are increasing rapidly - do you all think 8 weeks postimplant (which will be next wed) is too much wasted time? 3 surgeriesin 8 weeks is not good for me I know. We didnt consider Kolb in thebeginning due to $ but now that I am worse my dad wants to give it a try. I feel so mad at myself for seeking explant so quickly and I dont wantto hate myself in the end

for yet another bad decision. I know had to wait 3 weeks to see Kolb and she was very sick. This makes mefeel like 8 weeks post implant I can still have hopes of regaining mymemory, brain, health, joints, sleep, etc...?????? ??Or did I ruin my life by explanting by the wrong person at 5 weekswhen all thought I was lucky. Since I got sick so fast and so bad.. do I still have hopes ofregaining my health that has been so quickly ruined by the newsilicone gel? I will try to sleep tonight - thru the sleep disturbances and log onin the AM to see what you all think. I need the support to get me through right now. I feel lost.

Dearet Gretchen:

I really hope that you do not have more surgery so soon. Have the doctors tried antibiotics, because this could be the answer? I know that most of the women do not approve of antibiotics; however, most plastic surgeons here start women on antibiotics before they remove the implants. My plastic surgeon did not put me on antibiotics. Later, my right breast was so swollen that it had a red line down the front of it. My own doctor put me on a massive dose of antibiotics and I did get better. Did you have saline or silicone? Who was the manufacturer, this is important because they are all different....and so are we.

Gretchy: I'm scheduled for surgery myself next Friday with Dr. Kolb. I've met with her and talked to her often during the last year, and I don't think she would schedule you for surgery if she didn't think it was necessary. She really believes that everything should be cleaned out during an explant surgery. That said, some girls here have gotten better without drains and capsule removal, but the norm is to do both. I found it to be an enormous relief to finally see a doctor who knew what was wrong with me. I was explanted two years ago by a surgeon who said he'd get all the capsule he could out, and drains were used--he told me later he was unable to get all the capsule on my ribs. My health is much better despite a few remaining systems. The reason I'm having surgery is to remove a couple of large fibrocystic lumps.

Dr. Kolb thinks they could contain mold (which was found in my implants). Other doctors closer to home could have removed them, but I want to make sure it's done right, especially since I've already had numerous surgeries on my breasts. Good luck. Gretchen ... Avoid all medications, cosmetics, personal grooming products, supplements and foods contiaining ANY silicone dioxide, silicates, or other silicone products. You may be having an allergic reaction due to silicone hypersensitivity.

Silicone is found in a host of products that we use daily. . . Normally, they wouldn't bother you, but if you're sensitive, they're poison for YOU!

Absolutely....I think she will be able to help you very much. She can offer you much in terms of steps you can take, and it may take awhile to implement all of them to see progress. Some supplements take about 6 weeks to see the positive benefits. But I am sure you have a chance of recovery. You really reacted badly to those implants. Do you know what metals were used as a catalyst in the gel of your implants? See if you can find out. Where are your implants?

Honey, you might be allergic to the Cipro, because I know that I cannot take this drug. Perhaps you could try another antibiotic. The Cohesive Silicone Gel will gradually leak small amounts of silicone into your body; however, you have not had them very long. Are you sure that your plastic surgeon is telling you the truth? I am at a loss, perhaps the other ladies might know. My first set of silicone implants made me sick immediately, but they were thin shelled and the silicone was liquid. My second set were the deadly polyurethane. Did you have them implanted under the muscle? I know that my implants were implanted under the muscle, and it seems like the women who have had them under the muscle get sicker faster!

Have you been lifting heavy objects, or doing exercises that might have caused this problem? I am surprised that you would have formed a capsule in 5 weeks. You might be one of the women who became sick very quickly because you are allergic to silicone! Hang in there, and we will try to find the answer. I have just called Dr. Blais, to see if he could help with your health issues. When and if he should return my call, I will let you know.

Sending love to you.........Lea

i only took the cipro for a few days. i am only taking the diflucan

now per kolb but i dont think its working. i feel terrible still.

i did have them under the muscle. the only thing i did strenous was

massage them really hard in the beginning. dr blais said it could have

been an infection around the implant. in that case it might still be

in me. do u think i can still get better? i feel like im dying.

Gretchen . . .

You'll probably need to make a schedule for your meds . . . maybe you'll have to have someone lay them out for you. . .

Once you start feeling better, it will be easier. . .

It does take dedication and discipline . . but, you are the only one who can do it!

The reward of getting your life back will make it worth while.

Oh, honey, I know that you will get well; however, I think that you need more than three days on any antibiotic if you have a severe infection. I wish that you could have read my story because it gave many women HOPE. I too, thought that I would die, but I am still here. I wonder if you could be allergic to the Diflucan?

Love you........Lea

I hear you, but you have had your implants removed. This means that you need time to heal, it could take months. Stay close and find someone to come and spend time with you, until you see Dr. Kolb...love you...Lea

so now im sick due to lack of research.

im so sad. i want to get better so bad.

" There is essentially no

clinical data to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Styles 10

and 20. While these styles

are similar in nature to the styles evaluated in the Core clinical

trial, they differ in important

design features such as volume, shell surface, shape and profile.

Slight variations between

styles of ,the devices may produce vastly different clinical outcomes.

The lack of scrutiny of

preclinical mechanical testing in the breast implant clinical trials

further adds to the

uncertainty of the performance of the devices. "

Can you call the manufacturer and ask them? You have to have the model number and lot number I think, which should have been given to you in your medical records at implantation. If you have not started asking for a copy of your medical records, do so now.

I created a binder for all my medical records. I keep the tests in there, as well as any other pertinent medical information. I got some of those protective covers for the papers. and I put all of my medical records, including my implant and explant documents, in those covers and file them by date so I can see progressively how my test results have worked out. The lot numbers of my implants and everything else is at my fingertips.

I wonder if anyone at the FDA has the chemical listing for the new Inamed Cohesive Gel implants? My concern was that since platinum and tins have been used as catalysts in the past to thicken the silicone into a gel, that perhaps there is more platinum in them now? If so, I would think that would be devastating to women with certain allergies.

Hi Gretchen, Honey, think of what your poor body has been through in the past couple of months! Two surgeries, tests, anethestic, medication, implants... it really is an awful lot! I think it will certainly take timt to recover from all of that and I bet dr Kolb will be able to give you some great sugestions. It is so scary when we don't know what is happening with our bodies, but when we can take a proactive approach to our healing and our health it helps us regain a sense of control in our lives. I wish you a prosperous journey to Altlanta, you are in good hands!! Katy:)foxygretchy <gretchenc@...> wrote: Alot of times during explant surgery, toxins are stirred up causing aflare of symptoms. We didnt consider Kolb in

thebeginning due to $ but now that I am worse my dad wants to give it a try. I feel so mad at myself for seeking explant so quickly and I dont wantto hate myself in the end for yet another bad decision. I know had to wait 3 weeks to see Kolb and she was very sick. This makes mefeel like 8 weeks post implant I can still have hopes of regaining mymemory, brain, health, joints, sleep, etc...????????Or did I ruin my life by explanting by the wrong person at 5 weekswhen all thought I was lucky.

Gretchy,

This is really the fault of the FDA, the manufacturers and the plastic surgeons. They are using dangerous devices in women and calling them safe, even though there not enough evidence to support their use.

I'm so sorry you are going through this mess.

You must think positive thoughts! You have to have faith that there are answers.

Try to grow spiritually through this experience, as well as physically. I know it's hard, but you have to get your focus off of the negatives about this experience and back onto the positives in life.

Let Dr. Kolb help put you on the right track.

Be patient until then.

Patty
