Guest guest
Robin, I'll be joining you starting today. I've been down with a bad cold for the last week or so. Better now, but Nyquil and " comfort food " has left me with an extra 10 to lose. Pam Back in the Saddle > So, I'm still down 10 pounds from where I started. Kirstie - are you still > interested in being on serious induction with me?
Guest guest
Good luck to you, Robin. I am going to try to cut back again also. I don't know that I will go so low as induction, but I indulged in some of the best homemade ice cream in the world this weekend. Of course, since you can't get Splenda or Sweet One in Iowa it was made with tons of sugar. Sigh. BTW, for those of you who do have access to both products, have you tried combining them as Dr. A suggests to get an enhanced sweetness or whatever he says that provides. I know that he recommends using a combination of AS. What do you think? Should I order Sweet One as well as Splenda? Or is Splenda as good as it gets? That is what I have generally used and I can't imagine anything being much better, but I am curious. Jean
Guest guest
We can do this Robin! I'm going to be on 'not quite induction' - but those extra carbs (30 will be my limit)will be in the form of veggies. I'll give up my desserts besides a little SF jello, limit my nuts to 1 oz. per day, but it's important to me to have lots of veggies on my plate. Guest guest
I find that cocoa powder and splenda can be quite bitter, but combining it with some cyclamate (my sweetner of choice in Canada) makes it much better. They seem to complement each other quite well. Kirstie (getting all visions of cocoa powder out of her head - back in the saddle again!) Guest guest
YOU GET NUTS??????? No fair.....I don't lose weight if I eat nuts. Oh, well. I'll get over it. Today I basically ate just protien. Either tomorrow or the next day I'll switch to protien and veggies. I usually do this to jump start myself when starting out on induction again. So, today I had: 16 oz of coffee with heavy cream and Splenda one 6 oz can of tuna with plenty of mayo 2 medium cut pork chops cooked in butter (poured drippings over them on my plate) 120 oz of water. I'm done for the day, unless I hit the pork rinds tonite - but I think I will probably be in bed nice and early instead.
Guest guest
Great, Pam! We can do this together!
Guest guest
Well.. I get nuts unless I go a couple of weeks unless it still doesn't come off. I've been hovering between 40-60 grams of carbs a day for the last month, so I'm hoping that eliminating the treats and crackers with peanut butter and low carb spread and yogurt and stuff and getting down to 30 with the majority from veggies will get things moving again without having to take more drastic measures. Guest guest
Kirstie - that's great! Are you going to weigh again on Wednesday morning? Or do you only weigh once a week or something like that? I did well today. : Breakfast: 16 oz strong coffee with heavy cream and splenda Lunch: 6 oz tuna (in oil) mixed with much mayo on pork rinds Dinner: 5 eggs scrambled in butter with about 2 ounces of cream cheese (thanks Beth in Georgia) 120 oz of water Tomorrow when I get home from work, I will test for ketosis. Usually takes me 3 days to get into it. Either tomorrow or Thursday I will start having my veggies. Probably Thursday.
Guest guest
Yeah, but did you add chives?? :-) > Dinner: > 5 eggs scrambled in butter with about 2 ounces of cream cheese (thanks Beth > in Georgia)
Guest guest
I didn't have any chives....but I thought about them! I suppose you grow them? My cats would eat them, so I don't have any fresh ones, and dehydrated ones rather suck.
Guest guest
Kirstie, That is awesome! Keep it up and you'll be down those nine pounds in no time at all. Guest guest
Great job Pam congrats on that loss, don't stop now ;-) Cheryl << I'm not in ketosis yet, probably tomorrow, but I've lost 8 of the 10 pounds I put on while sick. >>
Guest guest
I did weight this morning (I'm a compulsive scales addict) and I'm down another 1 1/2 pounds. 9 pounds left to go though before I hit my lowest weight and the majority of those should be water which should shed if I avoid the soy. I'll be feeling good if I can start seeing some new numbers! I don't know how you can eat like that Robin - I'd go stir crazy! (which is why my goal is to stay under 30). yesterday I had: breakfast: 1 hardboiled egg, 2 oz. cheddar cheese lunch: 1 oz. sunflower seeds and the end of the pork chop casserole which turned out to be a creamed green bean/mushroom affair as my son had eaten all the pork chops out of it and didn't bother qualifying his answer to the question 'is there any left?' which I asked before I got him to pack me up the rest for lunch. doh! Was I ever hungry! dinner: about an 8 oz. steak grilled on the BBQ, salad (lettuce/radish/cucumber/tomato) with caesar dressing snack: 1/2 cup cottage cheese w/ 1 tablespoon of E.D. 's marmalade fruit spread (2.4 carbs per TBLSP) water: 90 oz. + 2 (or 3?) cups of tea with AS and cream Today's plan: breakfast: 2 hardboiled eggs lunch: leftover steak cut up into a salad with caesar dressing, 1 oz. sunflower seeds dinner: some kind of meat grilled with steamed veggies - or possibly a stir fry, I have some bean sprouts and snow peas needing to get used up, as well as carrots, turnip, cauliflower, brocolli, yellow beans, mushrooms, and zucchini in the fridge Kirstie
