Guest guest
Cherie, It could also be that the systemic candida was caused by the implants (because your immune system became weak), and it could also be that the arthritis is a result of both. I never had arthritis, and within a month of getting implants, my joints swelled up like crazy. Anyway, do whatever you have to do in order to get well, and no matter what the cause, I'll continue to pray for you. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Guest guest
I was going to say the same thing Sis. Candida issues don't just happen. There had to have been a cause for the candida overgrowth (if that is indeed the major issue) in the first place, and Candida issues are pretty common with implanted women, (from what I've heard from one of our recommended doctors. It all boils down to a break down in the immune system, which is what we are all dealing with. We just each manifest it in different ways. Guest guest
Hi Cherie, I am glad you are feeling better since you spoke with Dr. Leu. It is so comforting to hear him explain why certain things are going on with your body. It all makes so much sense and isn't such a hopeless mystery. I have taken Ketoconazole several times for Candida as well. When I had severe Candida, I did herx on it a bit initially but not terribly. It did pass within a couple of days. Did he prescribe a 14 or 21-day supply? For me, it always helps if I eat a really good diet, without sugar. We should anyway but sometimes even fruit sugar can cause a herx with Candida treatment. If you do herx, you know that you really had a bad Candida problem. Is your tongue coated white? That is a sure sign for me, as well as vaginal yeast infections. I hope the treatment helps you tremendously! Kenda > Hi Kenda > I wanted to tell you that Dr. Leu is starting treatment for me for > systemic Candida. Ketoconazole should arrive tomorrow. Guest guest
I wonder about the association with implants and weakened immune system to cause candida - it does make sense, however, my daughter has it, and my husband also has it to the point of arthritis in his knees. At least we suspect for my husband because when he treated for it before, his knees got better. Whatever the reason, I don't have regrets about getting the implants out - I KNOW it wasn't good for me to have them. I am just really praying this medication will help and that we finally found the source of my inflammation. If not, I think I will have to come to a whole new acceptance of my physical limitations real soon. It's all in the attitude. You know when you get sick, it is so hard to imagine what it was like to feel well. If I get well again (or maybe I should say " when " ) I will not take it for granted. Guest guest
I know I can pass to my husband. What prompted me to get my daughter checked was after a toe injury (she lost the nail) it never grew back right and has a fungus. We've been seeing a podiatrist, and after many topical treatments, the only other option was very expensive and VERY toxic oral medication - for my 10 year old!! forget that! So I had her tested through Dr. Leu and found that she also has it. I think many people have candida that remains in control as long as we are strong, but when our immunity is weakened (for whatever reason - diet, antibiotics, stress, implants ...) it grows out of control. I've also learned that it can cause arthritis - which has been my problem all along. I'm learning all the time. IF this is the answer to my problems (notice the big IF), though the implants could have caused my lowered immune system, it would not explain why so many others have it who do not have implants. I guess I just want to share that, for so many of us, the implants may have caused our illness, but they MAY not be the reason for some. I wish that I had taken the time to investigate other possible causes before undergoing explant surgery that was very tough on my already sick body. But I was so desperate for an answer and wanted to get well in a hurry. I hope this doesn't sound like I'm trying to undermine the support group - you are all wonderful, intelligent, caring and sympathetic, and have a great cause. I guess I am just not as sure as I once was. God Bless Cherie > >> > > >> > Hi Kenda > >> > I wanted to tell you that Dr. Leu is starting treatment for me > > for > >> > systemic Candida. Guest guest
Fungus can be caused by anything that weakens the immune system, and implants are known to weaken the immune system. So often we try to rationalize that implants did not cause our problems, but if we are truthful, we know that they are at least a major source of many problems that women have. Anyone with a weakened immune system can have fungus, and this is especially true with the diet of many Americans today. Junk food, sodas, white starches, pizza, less vegetable and less good grains and nutrients. Wearing socks and shoes all the time can help create an environment where fungus can grow on toes. BTW, I am getting rid of my toenail fungus with Leucatin, a product you can find on the internet. Lynda > I know I can pass to my husband. Guest guest
You can also get fungus from Implants, just lokk at those iplants and read the pathologists reports. They have fungus growing as well as mold. Terri P > >> >> > > >> >> > Hi Kenda > >> >> > I wanted to tell you that Dr. Leu is starting treatment for me > >> > for > >> >> > systemic Candida. Guest guest
Cherie, If you are in doubt and have the money, you could always reimplant and see what happens. Not that I recommend that. There are articles out there on the net about women who have reimplanted and get sick all over again. I don't think there is any question for them that implants caused illness in their body. Unfortunately, they had to learn the hard way. I have a friend in California who learned that way, going through one set of silicone gel implants and one set of saline implants, only to end up sick twice, and struggling with autoimmune disease. I personally have no doubt that you would be sicker than sick all over again if you reimplanted, and I'd hate to see you go through that. Candida is found in every human body. It is part of the normal flora of the intestinal tract. Candida becomes a disease issue when the candida are allowed to grow uncontrolled due to the good bacteria losing ground from toxic exposures, poor diet, or whatever it is that damages a digestive or immune system. Candida issues CAN happen to anybody who have had any type of exposure that would allow candida to grow uncontrollably. In your case, the most likely cause was the implants. Even if it wasn't, knowing what you know about implants now, would that make you feel better about having them still? I don't think it does you any good to be doubtful of your decision. Looking at the cold, hard facts, it is unimagineable to me that anyone would want to take the risks of keeping implants, knowing that women and children have suffered losses so great that they are left destitute and even died. This is not little illnesses and minor inconveniences. This is deathly disease. I'm sorry, I just find it hard to believe that you could even entertain anything else after all you've heard....but that's me. Patty Re: To Kenda I know I can pass to my husband. Guest guest
I think maybe I am being misunderstood. There is no way I want to go back to implants, as they very well may have been the cause of my illness. Guest guest
Cherie, I also wanted to mention that you have only had your implants out a year. You are still healing. As you know, it took me 4 years to get better and have almost all of my symptoms go away. It took alot of work during those 4 years, alot of detoxing, and patience. I, too, thought I was not healing and would never get better. But I persevered, because I knew God wanted me to. You are also jumping the gun....you don't know that the Candida treatment is going to take away your symptoms. What if you go through treatment and you still have other symptoms? There are still alot of "IF's" out there....and you are worrying needlessly. It's okay to share battles you are having in your mind. I am sure most of us have been through them. I went through doubts myself. But I never doubted that the implants caused my illness. I have been through too much--with the fasting, the rashes, the healing, and hearing from woman after woman after woman and seeing families struggle and suffer horrendously because of implants to come to any other conclusion. In my mind, I cannot believe that God would sanction implants if they are doing this to women and families. They are tools of satan,a nd not to be messed with. Cherie, if you wouldn't have gone through the explant surgery then, you would still have had to go through it at another future time. You would still have had to spend the money, and if you had waited, you might have had to spend more. You may not have had access to a great surgeon to do it. There are alot of things that would have been different, and they may not have all been good. You have to trust that God led you to this place at the proper time, and put the proper people in your path at the time that you needed it, provided the funds at the time that you could spend them, and you need to believe that He is leading you. If you can't believe that, then what are you believing in? Patty Re: To Kenda I think maybe I am being misunderstood. Guest guest
Hi Cherie, I understand your feelings completely. I have never been implanted and still think about it and wish I could. Even after reading all of the email here, I still have a desire to implant -- BUT I won't. Yes, I have/had many of the immune problems many women here suffer, even without having had implants. What that means to me, is that all of our immune systems have been knocked down for one reason or another. The likelihood that I would become sick again, after all of my hard work to become well, is very strong. If you didn't remove your implants and have immunological problems now, the likelihood is that you would become much sicker than you have been or now are. Women with immune problems should not be implanted because their bodies reject and react to the implants. Don't question your decision to explant, with your current sickness, you would never be healthy again with implants in your body. Don't feel badly about discussing the battle in your mind. The truth is, many of us have the same or very similar battles. Kenda > > Re: To Kenda > > > >I think maybe I am being misunderstood. Guest guest
Hey Cherie, I know husbands and wives pass Candida back and forth between eachother, too, and you may have already mentioned that. Hopefully if you both get treated that won't be an issue, and I really hope that this treatment helps in the way you feel. I know what you mean about acceptance, when I first got sick I was very anxious for it to go away, but in time I have come to accept the issues that I'm still struggling with. I'm curious to see how I do over the winter, because last winter was really tough. When did your symptoms start flaring up again - was it around the time the seasons changed? You probably have heard my theory about the change of seasons, and I've noticed that summer is the best time for me, and when fall rolls around things start to change. Not sure if it's less sunlight, or the temperature, or whatever's floating around in the atmosphere. I've heard that alot more children have candida issues because as kids they were prescribed alot of antibiotics - it seemed like children in the last 20 to 25 years had an awful lot of ear aches. Guest guest
Thank you all for responding, and I appreciate all of you. I have taken two doses so far of the ketoconazole, and I think I am herxing. My pain is much worse, I have a headache, my eyes itch and I have chills. I expected it, so I am prepared for the healing crisis and I think it is actually a good thing. Just have to get through it and hope that it means I will get better. I plan on another juice fast when the treatment is complete. I can't write too much now, cause I feel so terrible, but wanted to let you know that I am getting your responses. Guest guest
That's for sure, Terri. My implants looked all black, grey and patchy - yuk! I've had " furry " stuff in my lungs for years...everyone would laugh when I'd say " my chest feels all furry on the inside! " My next doctor visit, I'll be addressing tests for fungal growth. They sure don't like to offer them, as Health Canada restricts the doctors on which tests to do on a regular basis. That's just too sad. Guest guest
Cherie, I pray that you decide to keep your precious body implant- free. After years of suffering, I am still kissing the ground and thanking God and this support site for the valuable information that saved my life. Guest guest
Cherie, You may want to check out "FAR inrared sauna therapy" . . . A number of us have used it and found it very beneficial. Rogene
Guest guest
Hi Cherie, It sounds like taking the Ketoconazole is going to be a good thing since you are herxing so badly. I'd caution you about doing a juice fast after Candida therapy. Juices are very high in sugar and feed Candida. I hope you start feeling better really soon!
