Guest guest
, Welcome to the group. There has been much debate on the relationship between PLS and ALS. The answer is not very clear. There are some excellent articles on the PLS website that you might want to read, then make up your own mind about it. I was diagnosed in April, 99, after 9 months of my doctors being 99% sure I had ALS. Currently, I take Baclofen 10 mgs. 3Xday. It makes you sleepy and lightheaded at first, but I was able to adjust in about 5 days. I also take Vitamin E, C, Melatonin, and Beta Carotene. I am about to restart Creatine, and am considering Lecithin. I started PT, but quit going when my doctor suggested it might be a waste of time. Now, I take water aerobics at the Y two days a week, and am trying to motivate myself to ride the stationary bike at the gym. I used to walk on the treadmill, but became frightened that I would trip and fall, so for now I'm sticking to the water, where my balance is much improved. Sadly, I have gained about 10 lb. over the last several months due to inactivity. My goal is to exercise as much and as safely as I can. Fatigue is a huge issue, and we should all try not to become overtired doing any activity (even shopping)! Hopefully, this group can provide you with enough information to clear up some of your confusion......it has helped me tremendously. We have all been right where you are at, so feel free to ask or comment on anything. Jo Ann
