Guest guest
The latest Time Magazine, dated January 19, 2008, has a long article about borderline personality disorder, focusing of a form of treatment called Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. It highlights a study that shows that BPD is more prevalent than previously thought: 5.9 % of the population instead of 2%. (And that's looking at only the conventional, lower-functioning people with BPD!). That same study found that BPD affects men and women equally. However, it states that medications are not useful-something that many top psychiatrists in the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder would strongly disagree with. You can find accurate information about medications on the site www.BPDDmystified.com <http://www.bpddmystified.com/> . However (and obviously) this is a Great Thing. I wonder how many people will be Googling " Borderline Personality Disorder " this week. Here's the article: http://tinyurl.com/7knkt5 Randi Kreger Randi @BPDCentral.com www.BPDCentral.com * NEW!
