Just a quick question. My son Adam 5 uses a Phonic Ear Free Ear FM system at

school. Our local HI consultant has set the controls on it and volume levels

after consulting with Adam's audiologist. He does not seem to be responding

as well with the FM as he does with his hearing aids. His hearing aids are

Phonak super-front. I was just wondering if any other parents have noticed a

difference in their children's responses and speech while using the FM. His

speech therapist is really concerned. If all the settings are correct should

we stop using the FM and go with just his aids in class? Also there is a lot

of feedback when he wears the FM the earmolds are fit correctly and don't

feed back when he has his hearing aids on.

Any advice or information would be a great help!

Thank you

Nikki

You go to the audiologist with the FM and the hearing aids and have real ear

measures done on both. You also have audiometric testing and speech

discrimination testing done with both.
