had surgery on January 7th 2002 and I am down 66 pounds last check .welcome to

Just wanted to introduce myself

My name is Gwen. I am 32 yrs old and I live in Los Angeles, CA. I

had LAP RNY on 12/10/01, to date I have lost 75 lbs. Starting

weight of 282, size 26/28. Now I am wearing sizes ranging from L/XL

Shirts to 14-18 pants. I had some problems in the beginning and was

in the hospital for 3 weeks after wls. I am doing great and

enjoying life to the fullest. I just wanted to say hello.....

Hi Gwen!

Welcome to the group! I can't imagine being in the hospital for 3 weeks. I

hated being there 3 days. I'm glad to hear you are doing great now! I'm in

LA, too. San Pedro, to be exact. Not a lot of Californians on this list, to

my knowledge.

Do you attend a support group? There's one in San Pedro, but I've only been

once.

This is a great group. Enjoy!!!!

Welcome to the group. I am Tracey from Northern Minn. I had surgery Nov 20

2001 and as of yesterday i've lost 91 lbs. This surgery has been a God

Hi Gwen, Welcome to the group. My name is Nan and I live in Dayton,

Ohio. I had the surgery (almost) four weeks ago and am down 34 lbs.

This has been a great experience for me. This group has a lot of

It's nice to " meet " you and " hi " back to you. Your weightloss seems to be

going well, thank God. May I ask, though, what types of " problems " did you

encounter in the beginning? I'm still searching for the " right " answer for

me and would like any kind of information -- the good, the bad, AND the ugly.

Hi Gwen and welcome. I am another Californian. My name is , I'm 52 and

have lost 50 pounds in the last 4 months. However, I haven't had surgery

yet, my doctor requires all her patients to loss 10% of their weight prior to

scheduling surgery (I have now lost over 105). I am waiting for approval

from my insurance company -- CA Blue Shield HMO. We have several support

groups in the area and I have found to be very helpful dealing with all the

ups and downs. This is a great group so, if you need anything just whistle

and someone will be able to help you.
