Guest guest
Kris, The drains are used to get rid of any fluids that accumulate. Sometimes this fluid contains bad organisms . . sometimes there's some internal bleeding that needs to get out . . . sometimes it's just clear fluids that are your body's response to surgery. You may do perfectly fine without drains - but, if you don't, the misery you will experience won't be worth it. Using drains is a simple procedure - a little clumsy because you have to wear an apparatus for a few days - but, from what we've seen, worth the aggravation. Have you checked our archives for recommended doctors? Rogene Re: what my doc said.... Guest guest
-Kris, I had to have two surgeries. One was to remove the implants and the ps did't remove both the scar capsules. He removed one because it had a capsular contracture and I didn't know about this group at the time. I had drains and had no bruising or fluid build up. Every day after my surgery I would milk the drains and this stuff that needed to come out came out. Second surgery to remove the residule capsule no drain was used. I bruised more and developed a hematoma and large bump , blood clot that hurt and took longer to heal. The drains were important and did their job, and if you had implants your body built a wall or capsule around the implant. That needs to come out as well. it contains stuff from the implant. Trust me you don't want to go through it again and again. I did, Terri P -- In , Rogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: > > Kris, > > The drains are used to get rid of any fluids that accumulate.
