Guest guest
I erased the message asking for information about Walnut Creek before I realized that I would be replying to it so I do not remember your name but I may have an answer for you. There are two 's on the list. If you were sending your question to the in MI and Walnut Creek is in Oakland County, I may be able to help you. There is a wonderful school for the Deaf/HH in Bloomfield Hills called Eastover School. It is a public school and covers the whole Oakland County area. It is a total communications program. Many of the children wear FM systems. The Deaf/HH program is in half of the school and the rest of the school is regular ed. My understanding is that the children in the deaf ed program are in the specialized classes for some subjects like reading, etc. and mainstreamed for classes like music, art, etc. The wonderful thing is that all of their mainstreamed classes have an interpreter assigned whenever there is a deaf/hh student and, since there are so many deaf/hh students everything is just taken for granted by all of the students. I viewed the program myself and was totally impressed. The deaf/hh students were friendly and full of confidence. It seemed like a wonderful place to be. wants to go there so much but our situation is a little more complicated. Here is a site that should give you more specific information about who to contact.Bloomfield Hills Schools If you want to contact me personally, feel free to do so.
