Guest guest
Congrats. You are doing great! Pat 1 Year Anniversary!!! Hi Friends, Today is my 1 year anniversary and I just wanted to share it with all of my MGB Friends! This year has passed by so quickly, it seems like only yesterday when I started this search in January 2000! As always at the beginning of a New Year I was desperately looking for a miracle. Each year I promised myself I would lose weight. I would get physically fit, change my eating habits, and each year I always got bigger. Well June 2, 2000 I did get my miracle!!! Dr. R. was the person with the aid of God who gave me my " new " life. The day of my surgery I weighed 304 pounds, today I weigh 183 pounds. YES! YES!! That's 121 pounds gone. I am 55 years old and this is smaller than I have been in my adult life. I hope to lose 20-30 more pounds. But... time will tell. I have lost this weight eating anything I want to eat and as many times a day as I want to eat. Only in small amounts!! I eat very little meat or bread I just don't seem to digest it well. I have had very few problems. I have vomited a few times eating too fast or too much. Other than that I am problem free as far as the MGB goes. My BP is 122/68 the lowest in many years. I am having my blood work done 6/11/01 because I have to have a hysterectomy 6/14/01 because of severe bladder trouble. I also still have problems with bone spurs which is very painful. I wish all my littermates a Happy Anniversary and pray all are doing well. And to everyone else MUCH SUCESS! Life is good!! I love shopping for clothes. I now wear a size 16 some 14's. A year ago I never thought I would ever be in " normal " size clothes. Sorry this is soooo long! I just felt soooo happy I wanted to share. Love ya all. Guest guest
, I am so happy you wrote to share with us your healing successes at one year post explant! I am so happy for you. I am thrilled at your progress, and especially thrilled about all of the wonderful things you are now doing in life as a result of your experience. I have no doubt you are a beautiful, beautiful woman, both inside and out! If I never meet you on this side of heaven, I will be looking for you when we get there! Hugs, Patty 1 year anniversary!!! Today is my 1 year anniversary of my explant! It is amazing how this time sure flies. Before explant, I didn't think I would be alive to see 2007, or if I did, that I would need in home nursing care. Let me give a update of what I have done since explant, all things I never thought possible since getting sick and losing my ability to work and attend my classes. Here is the list. Since explant, Took hospice volunteering classes, now doing 3 hours a week volunteering. Spoke in front of my church about 4,000 faces in three different services about my health struggles with implants. Started a support ministry in my church for people suffering from chronic illness, which has made a difference to many. This takes up about 3-4 hours per week of my time. I have even started helping some with their household chores and shopping. (Things I couldn't have done myself prior to explant) Started online classes for a BS in Holistic Nurtrition though Clayton College of Natural Health. Started helping my neighbor who has MS get up for church on Sundays. Went on a two week Carribbean vacation with my hubby, where we went sightseeing, hiking, snorkling, swimming, shopping, and even scuba diving!!!!!! (Here is the proof I am living again!) Started taking a spanish class in a real classroom. Just started a very part-time job as "pesonal assistant for seniors" about 5-10hours per week. I am doing the same things as I do for my ministry for church, help with chores and shopping, and even some campaionship. This is not quite nursing like I used to but, Im out there! I have learned so much about myself during this illness and also how to heal during this past year. I have learned to not stress over things I cannot control, and also to identify things I can. This whole ordeal all in all has made me a better person mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I have learned that my appearance does not make me a beautiful woman, the size of my breast doesn't imply feminity, and that my care and concern for others is the real test of my beauty. The most important lesson I have learned is to trust GOD for everything! Thank you so much Ladies for all your love and support this past year! - We won't tell. Guest guest
, Your story is an inspiration I am so happy for you and it gives me new hope. I am 8 months explant and still struggle daily. I am better since explant and that makes me happy since most doctors told me even if you get them out you will get no better. This is already proven false and makes me go one day by day. I am so happy now what a story. Keep up the faith and good works for God. God Bless You !!!!!!!!!!!
Guest guest
Oh , your message is giving me chills!! I remember how sick you were, and how you could barely climb a flight of stairs. I am so happy to hear of your progress since explant. If that's not proof that implants made you sick, I don't know what is!! I remember how sad you were that you couldn't go to school anymore, and now here you are learning another language and taking online courses towards a BS. Your message has given hope to those on this site who are where you were a year ago, and you have taken a terrible experience and turned it totally around. I'm thrilled that you're studying Holistic Nutrition - who better to help people regain their health than someone who can empathize with their patients. Thanks so much for sharing your progress with us. Sis > > Today is my 1 year anniversary of my explant! It is amazing how this time sure flies. Guest guest
! In my wildest dreams, I couldn't imagine you doing so well after one year! . . . It's wonderful beyond words. I remember how desperately ill you were and how upset you were that you couldn't see yourself moving ahead with your life. Congradulations for doing all the things necessary to get well. I know it's not easy! I'm looking for a brand-name recommendation for an ionic foot bath . . . Would you recommend yours? Ladies - for those of you who haven't seen the photos of and her family as they used an ionic foot bath, check the Photo archive. I thought hers were bad - but you should have seen what my feet did to the water! . . . I'm convinced the foot baths are an answer to our prayers. Guest guest
Rogene, Dr. Kolb highly recommends the foot baths. I'm also looking for one. If you find a recommended one, will you let me know please? Thanks. Kenda > ! > > In my wildest dreams, I couldn't imagine you doing so well after one year! . . > . Guest guest
My hubby is so excited, he hopes people ask how his wife is, then he can share that a year and a half ago he was shopping online for wheelchairs. He almost bought one, except I told him I would not use it. It is amazing how sick I was, and how fast I got that sick. I still have pain and stiffness in my joints and muscles, but not like I did then. I still walk like an 90 year old lady first thing in the morning, something my hubby and I can laugh at now. It is also so amazing that I am more at home in this broken body then I ever was with implants. I have alot more respect for the human body after taking care of this one so meticulously this past year. I am so thankful for you and all the beautiful women here, you all are just as responsible for my gains as I am. Thanks, auntsisnj <auntsisnj@...> wrote: Oh , your message is giving me chills!! Guest guest
Rogene, Thanks for all you do here, I appreciate you. We have the Body Balance Systems Home unit. We got it on ebay. We are now looking to buy another water probe for it because ours is so worn out. I still use it about once a week, I should use it more, but I am much busier now. Rogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: !
