Guest guest
So you got it up there today. I'm in Preble county about 20 miles south of Greenville, OH. We got a bit of rain and some of the cooler air and I'm not complaining because I had just finished mowing and was overheated. However, the drops in air pressure and doing all that mowing with the pushmower has my body twisted and sore. Not a joint that isn't hurting today. The weather is crazy everywhere and I know that getting overheated is as bad as getting too cold in my case. Just keep on keeping on, I'm still moving but in about an hour, I'll be ready for bed. Try some moist heat under heating pads for your knees. I'm going to soak in the tub like I did yesterday, right before I get under the covers and fall asleep. Jennette JIM wrote: I'm just wanting to vent and complain about the weather and the pain today. Becasue I know that thats the only thing I an do. My only other options is to ask if anyone has a tub of Icy Hot to spare. So I hope you guys do'nt mind me venting today. Guest guest
Jim asked: > Does the weather get to anyone else like it dose me? Jim Yes the weather bothers me as well. I can tell up to a day or two before its going to storm. Whether it's rain or snow I know its coming. The cold weather also effects my pain as well. My husband calls me the human weather forcaster. The pain is different as well. It's a hard backache that won't let up no matter what I do. So on those days I just hang around the house. I usually just sit in my recliner with my trusty heating pad. I just tough it out like a lot of us do on here. in Missouri
Guest guest
The pain is off the charts with the rain and the storms here in Kansas but I have a unique problem with the barometer rising and falling and the high humidty that goes along with everything. Due to my brain surgery over 15 years ago I am now passing out 3 - 6 times a day. Well, not passing out exactly, I get very dizzy, things go black, and I end up on the floor or on a chair where I can hear what people are saying and can even repeat it back to you verbatium once I come to, but I cannot see you nor respond. It lasts for about 30 seconds to 60 seconds. Then I am okay and get up and go on about my life until the next time it hits. Sort of feels like my head is being filled up with air before it happens. They have done lots of tests but all along I have told them it only happens when the storm system is this way. It happened about 3 years ago and then a few years before that and once before that. Only occurs when things are like they are now. It lasts until the system is completely out of the area. This may take a few weeks or as this time several weeks. I knew when the tornado was going to hit about 50 miles from where we live a couple weeks ago due to my head. All tests have just shown no changes since last time. In all of my brain support work those of us who are alive this many years after brain surgery of this type, (and that is not very many) have this problem. Docs think we are crazy, but it is just what happens. The same thing happens if we fly on any airline besides American or Continental. The others do not put as much " stuffing " in their planes so the altitude bothers us. I do feel sorry for those of you who hurt so much with the weather, because I do too. Be very thankful that you are not passing out as well! That is when life gets very interesting! I trust you won't hurt so bad tomorrow, it is no fun to ache from the inside out! I was recently away on a camping trip and it rained every night so every night with the thunderstorms killed my back, my legs and my neck. I couldn't wait to get home to my trans, subcutaneous electric nerve stimulator. Believe me, it saved my neck and back from further pain. /New York
Guest guest
Jennette, Where in Preble county are you? My grandparents used to live in Eatonm Ohio which I think is in Preble county. I have many memories of visiting them--some good and some bad. It's been a long time since I got back there. I still have an aunt there but chronic pain keeps my traveling to a " must-go " status now. Sorry for the extra pain you and Jim are suffering. Hope today's weather brings you some relief. Guest guest
I had to laugh at your gift of knowing storms are coming as long as it isn't dangerous. My daughter laughs but I am phobically afraid of lightening and I can almost smell and feel a storm coming even when its not forcast. And then there is the pain and aches .Already, here in Ct, its been late afternoon storms every day. Guest guest
Jim, Yes, the weather really causes my pain level to rise at times too. We were living in MN in 2005, when I severly injured my back. During the winter my back pain was elevated from the cold, and also whenever it snowed. In the summer, my back pain was elevated any time it stormed, or when the humidity was high. My doctors advised that I would probably benefit from moving to a warm and dry climate, and one with less barometric pressure changes. So, in March of 2007, we moved to Phoenix, AZ area. The warm and dry climate has made a difference. I still experience a rise in pain level about every 4-6 weeks that lasts for a few days. But this is a far cry from what life was like for me in MN. I was blessed with the opportunity to move to this climate. I hope that things balance out for you soon. I know what you are going through. Honestly, I can say that I wouldn't want even my worst enemy to experience that kind of pain. Rich
Guest guest
" I wish I lived some where that the climet was a bit more stable. But with all the crazy weather all over I don't think theres anyplace that's stable. " " Dose the weather get to anyone else like it dose me? " JIM From NW OHIO Jim: You're right when you say " I don't think there's anyplace that's stable. " That's nature, but, I grew up in NE Kansas. Winter started in Sept., and if we were lucky, it ended in May. Spring brought the promise of the few warm summer months, but not without first bombarding us with tornados and plenty of thunderstorms and lighting. I made the choice many years ago to find a place to live that was as stable as I could afford to live in. I doubt if I'll ever live east of the Rockies again. If you want the absolute best weather in this country, San Diego is the place to be---if you can afford to live there. Next best if you don't mind the summer heat is southern Nevada, which is where I've lived for the past 5 years. We do get thunderstorms, but I can count the number we've had since I've lived here on one hand. I know it's hard to pick up roots and re-plant yourself, especially if a family is involved, but in my case, my family is grown with a family of their own, I'm not married, and my sanity is so important to me that I made all the sacrifices I needed to so I could live where I wanted to.
