But yes Viriginia there is a Santa Claus, and yes old buddy, there was a monumental pileup. Why do you think 911 didn't work (overloaded) , why do you think my verizon cell said " Emergency Calls only " (which is a joke because it's prompting u to call 911). I even tried to call 880 traffic news in the Big Apple, and guess what, their phones were busy. A month ago I was in a certain city and saw a 57(mv accident) in the hammer lane, I called 911 and 911 tried to connect me to the town where the accident was. But guess what, the phone rang and rang but nobody answered. Finally i called a police officer friend in another town, told him what happened, and asked him to use SPEN if he could not get thru by regular landline. I think yours was the only valid explanation of why my cell phone kept ring with no answer. BTW, for the rest of you all, I was married to a 911 dispatcher. Now she's an ex, but we still friendly. Be that as it may I'm still interested in 911. My thanks to each and very one of you who responded to my post. Your input was appreciated. And yes, once a cop always a cop. Watch your speed if you're riding the roads of NJ:)
Guest guest
Its always nice to know that no matter where in this great land of ours you are some things are the same all over. Even after the units are on scene people are calling to tell us about it. Right ? Guest guest
Appomattox Va does not have 9-1-1 yet. They are working on it but not available yet. I'm going to apply there as soon as they start hiring for dispatchers. My thinking is that it takes almost a year to train a good dispatcher they should start hiring now and by the time they need dispatchers they'll have good fully trained one's. But then again this would make sense so they'll wait until they have to have them to start training. Go figure. tammy
