I am a family member of a 78 year old lady who has just been

diagnosed with PSC. It appears that she has had the disease for a

number of years. She is already consistently demonstrating symptoms

of jaundice, weight loss, itching, loss of energy and loss of

appetite. They have just perscribed the standard medication and have

not proposed any other treatment. Can any one tell me what we might

expect when the disease seems to have progressed to this point? She

is currently living alone in her home is having difficulty with the

stairs and we are trying to plan for her care.

What medicine have they prescribed? For most of us it is Urso or Actigall.

Did the doctors do an ERCP to look at her ducts? Did they give you any idea how long she might have had PSC?

This is a good group for information and there are many caretakers here who might be able to help with your questions. I'm sorry I'm not much help.

Blessings,

Barby
