Guest guest
I just wanted to add that I had general anesthesia for my baby too. Another angle on this situation though...I was super upset that the docs decided it that way because my husband couldn't be in the delivery room, I didn't see my baby for several hours. My ENTIRE family (and my husband's) got to see the baby before I did. It was really upsetting because I felt like I lost some bonding time with the baby. Another thing was I was under for much longer than they expected due to adhesions. It took 45 minutes to get the baby out! He got too much anesthesia and was kept in the nursery all night (I got to see him for 5 minutes) and was he groggy for 2 days. He was pretty listless and that's scary. One more thing...I also chose to breastfeed. That really aggrevated my symptoms since you have to hold your head funny and stretch your neck to look at and hold the baby. No one has mentioned that. Has anyone had that experience? I also had to go off meds to breastfeed. I only lasted 4 months.
