Guest guest
Thanks! I think it would be so much easier to take the cytomel with the synthroid. Is synthroid close to the same thing as Levoxyl. I have to take 2 multivitamins a day, an iron tablet, and 2 caltrate. It is not easy remember to take all those. I know your not supposed to take iron within 4 hours of synthroid. I don't think you are supposed to take iron and calcium togethere. I don't understand part of that because there is calcium and iron in my multivitamin. On top of all that, I had a gastric bypass, and I'm not supposed to drink for 30 minutes after I eat. Which doesn't really have anything to do with anything, except for when I can drink I forget to take my pills. lol OK... think I said enough. Thanks again. > >Reply-To: The_Thyroid_Support_Group >To: The_Thyroid_Support_Group >Subject: Re: cytomel >Date: Sun, 14 Mar 2004 07:44:09 -0000 > >Hi , >Just my two bits from a lurker, >When I took Cytomel, I took it right along with my Levoxyl(sp?). >then I waited an hour before I ate anything solid. Guest guest
... have you noticed improvements/changes, with dosing four times? I'm now up to six with the thyroid.... I almost feel like an artificial person at times... I was working on a project yesterday and got so involved that I forgot about my pills.... I have a tendency to dive so deep into projects that it can get dark outside and I won't notice (window at the end of my desk).... but I started getting tired, started yawning.... It was mid morning... and it still wasn't registering... Then my dad tapped on the door of the office to talk to me and as I turned around to look at him I spotted my pill box... on the other end of the desk (two desks in an L, so it was behind me as I worked) then it hit me... I was an hour and a half behind on my dose! I popped it under my tongue as we talked and then the yawning stopped.... I've had that happen when I skip a mini-meal too.... then I'll do something with calories.. and the yawning stops.... Weird.... Guest guest
It's only about what, 3 days, since I started it, and I would say that, over the last 24 hrs or so, I've had a little more energy. I know what you mean by the " artificial person " thing. I get so frustrated thinking that it MUST be this way for the rest of my life, in order for me to get to feeling good, no matter how you cut it. It IS hard to remember sometimes, and what frustrates me about remembering is that I've got to do this a couple of times at work also. On a nursing floor, you don't know what's going to happen next sometimes, so if something does happen, it can make you forget that, oh yes, I had a dose of thyroid med to take, didn't I? And vitamins. I'd LOVE to be able to take the stuff once a day, but I know that it would not work the same way for me. There IS a type of depression and frustration that comes from knowing that you MUST depend on a hormone or med the rest of your life, and that you will never be your old self (or a reasonable fascimile) without it. I see it in my little elderly patients, and I see it in myself, but it does give me a greater understanding for their behavior and their needs. Perhaps there's something to that, that we just don't understand----maybe it HAS to be me and a thousand others who have to go through this, so that someday, someone else possibly won't have to. Guest guest
I take something or another 19 times a day.... I console myself with the understanding that my body is healing... and that it may take time... but that if my body needs that TLC to feel better, to heal, to grow, to NOT be in pain... then it is worth it to me to give it that TLC. Considering all the pain stuff that I used to shovel down my throat just to make it bearable.... it's so much nicer to pop positives in instead..... I hope, that one day, my body will be a bit more self-supportive, that it won't need things split up an spread out to so many doses a day..... but even if that day doesn't come..... I'd still rather do it this way and have NO pain than to go back to the other and pop pain meds again. I've got a bunch of bits and pieces of things to make some more travel sized pill boxes... I still have hopes of getting out more this summer. I've been house bound for tooooooooo many years and I'm tired of it.....
