Guest guest
Oh dear Robin - you've had a really hard day! Your grief must be overwhelming at times, but you are very strong and capable - you will get through this. Time will make it easier. Forgive yourself for feeding the pain with carbs and jump back on the wagon as soon as you can. My kindest thoughts and prayers are with you. /TX > My day was rather trying. First, I went out to the cemetary to clean up all the fallen-over floral arrangements that were still on my Mom's gravesite. . . I came home and ate pizza and cherry Pepsi. Guest guest
Oh, Robin, I feel so sorry for your Dad. How sad for him. And for you to have to take on so much responsibility for him too. Maybe you can start small. Have him sort dark things from light things into 2 baskets at first. Then go over each basket with him and explain why he did well (or not so well). He may never get it . . but hey, in the big scheme of things, a few pink undies aren't such a big deal. He probably just wants to have you around more now than usual, so he's not going to be inclined to learn if he knows that feigning ignorance will keep you close to him. Good luck, pal! We're here for you if you need to vent! Terry
Guest guest
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Robin}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Your a good daughter, and resourceful too. I was thinking of you posting something up for your Dad too. At least when you do that if he really needs to do laundry he'll be able to do it step by step. I am sorry for all the heartache and pain your experiencing and I certainly don't blame you at all for having some " comfort food " . As long as you don't beat yourself up for it when your done. That is the last thing you need right now is to be hard on yourself. Just keep trying to do your best, for you. This is a process that is not pleasant to deal with in life dealing with a loved ones death. I do believe though that they are in a much better place than we are down here. That is my own opinion and I believe that with all my heart. It's hardest for us who are left behind to miss that loved ones presence. Sincerely, Cheryl << corporation pilot, owned a whole chain of laundromats during my childhood. So, I told him that this week I would document the whole process.......print it off.....and we would hang it over his laundry area. The next time I 'teach' him, we will go through the steps with documentation. I came home and ate pizza and cherry Pepsi. >>
Guest guest
{{{{{Robin}}}}} You are such a good daughter. I am sure it is extremely difficult for your father to adjust to life without your mother. She has always been there for him and due to her good health, he had no reason to believe she would not always be there for him. I'm very sure that he appreciates all that you are doing for him. I hope Mike is able to help you in a similar manner, but I am also sure that he is still adjusting to life without his own mother. If there is anything I can do in addition to providing good thoughts and prayers, please let me know. Make sure that you take care of yourself, you expected your mom to be around too. You have had a lot of changes, getting married, Mike's mother's death, your mother's death--make sure you pamper yourself. Why don't you have Mike take you to the Outback tomorrow, if there is one in your area. You need that salad, grilled veggies, steak and lots and lots of water. We'll let the pizza and cherry coke slide as a comfort food necessity this time, but no Krispy Kreme's. Got that??? LOL Hugs, Jean

Guest guest
Terry's comment about pink undies reminded me that in the next two weeks I will see a lot of pink socks and pink-shaded t-shirts around campus. The college I work at has red and white as their school colors. We have one week of classes over and kids (guys) will soon be doing their laundry without mom for the first time in their life. Yep, I see lots of pink on this campus! So, all you mothers of teenagers out there, make sure you teach your kids the basics of laundry 101 before sending your kids to college. If they just started, you might want to call and give them the sorting tip. It happens every year! LOL Jean
Guest guest
Robin, You are so welcome. And if nobody is taking care of your pampering, remember that petting a cat reduces stress levels. With four cats in your home, you can do a lot of stress reduction.
